Looked it up, your spec is actually the same as mine, 35-45mm or approx 1.5-2" (do your own research though, double check my work lol). Mine comes close to hitting the swingarm, but definitely not all the way, so yeah if you're hitting you're too loose for sure.

Buy a slacker and set the sag accurately. Then check it with her on there. You might determine it needs a spring rate change or not or a comfortable middle ground.

Got a little ride in today, about 40 miles to drop bike off to get new tires all the way around. Nice Yamaha Super Tenere 700 and Kawi KLR 650 kinda calling my name but wallet is empty.
    Lots of sweet KTMs

Decided today was a good day to ride the old stuff, the bikes I really hadn't ridden yet much this year. Decided the best approach would be to get at least one GLMC grand tour point with each of them. Stupidly I've already hit all of the nearest diners or dives but I had skipped the side of chips, aka poker chips, from areas where they would only be worth one point. What better use of a ride on the Honda and the Buell.

Eisenhauer's Harley Davidson in York is less then 30 minutes and easily reached without using any highways. Seemed the perfect choice for the little 400cc 4. I just put tires on this one recently and had pinched the front tube requiring professional assistance. All is well now and I got a lot of attention from customers going in and out of the Dealership. Stopped on the way home and filled the tank with some fresh ethanol free fuel and parked it until later.

Hadn't ridden the Buell at all yet this year and the next closest dealership would require at least a few highway miles so the 1200 v-twin made more sense for the task.

Susquehanna Harley Davidson and my 14th poker chip since starting the tour. Once more this bike drew some attention including 2 dealership staff who came outside to talk with me about it.

Went home and put it away then spent sometime rearranging the bikes in my limited garage space. Managed to install the Denali Mini Sound Bomb that @Gunshot-6A kindly left go for just the price of shipping. Hope we cross paths on the road sometime! Easy install on the 2014 FJR1300 and loud AF! Hardest part of the whole install was my sausage fingers being too fat to easily install the nut to hold the horn to the mounting bracket. Lost track of how many times I dropped it but finally found success.

Headed to Mount Airy, MD tomorrow for Classic Motorcycle Day. Have a few grand tour locations to hit on the way down and back.

Very cool, I’m jelly of the riding locales and all the bikes.

The aftermarket is nuts for those bikes. I had to "make" a headlight for my WR lol. Keep the updates coming, its raining constantly here too, I have nothing to fiddle with.

I a test ride on. KLR 650 a couple of years ago during one of Kawasaki’s demo days. I was greatly unimpressed with it. I felt my dirt bike with a much smaller engine performed better. Maybe too much compromise to try and do too much.

Would be fun to meet up sometime, but now living in Washington vs Northern VA, seems unlikely unless youre really chasing an IBA award.

Glad it went to a friendly rider either way!

I checked my chain and it was roughly 2.5 so I adjusted it and it seems fine now. That's as far as I got since we started working on our garden getting that sorted and also building a new gate for the backyard because I got my truck stuck in a spot that I couldn't get it out of soooo new gate lmao

I could see that, these bikes aren’t super impressive price reflective imo.

Got to ride today in the nice weather! We normally leave at 9am to get to blip but I'm usually speeding a bit and just kinda getting that way. But since the gf brought her bike I was stuck to the speed limit or a tiny bit under lmao. So we got there after everyone left oh well. Still gotta meet up with our friends and chat for awhile. Got the gf a new mirrored visor instead of her clear and then rode home. Spent roughly 3-4 hours on the bikes and had a great time just putsing around.

Went to a blessing of the bikes gathering and group ride today.
The pastor giving the blessing is a friend of mine.

    Staged up for the ride.
    20250518_142506.jpg
So the day started out good but then took a bad turn. We had just begun our group ride when all the riders in front of me turned off into a bar parking lot. This is a Christian group so I knew it wasn't for refreshments. I look in my mirror and all the bikes that where behind me and 2 others where gone! I heard that 3 bikes went down. I later talked with one of the other riders and found out that a Harley trike that was in the group failed to stop and hit 2 other riders. All went to the hospital to get checked out but it sounds like all are OK, at least one bike was totalled.
I ended up going for a ride by myself after that. Everyone's spirit was broke. After the accident.
Be carefull out there my brothers.

Classic Motorcycle Day in Mt Airy, MD gave me an excuse to hit some locations for both the GLMC and Team Strange grand Tours plus go look at some cool old bikes.

Westminster, MD is on the way and Westminster Abbey was a location in at least one Shakespearean play. 5 points for a complete match of Westminster.

From "The Merry Wives of Windsor" this isn't an exact match so only 1 point.

Mt. Airy starts with M and this place is right across the street from the bike show. Almost too easy, Twin Arches Tavern.

Now for the really interesting stuff.

How about a nice Laverda SF750 twin?

Right foot shift, left foot rear brake. Drum rear brake at that.

Nice Honda CBX Super Sport. Love the exhaust header on it.

This year the theme instead of being a marque as past years they focused on single cylinder bikes.

Spent about 2 hours at the show then worked my way home grabbing mor Grand Tour points for both events I'm registered for. Great day of riding!
