Little wireless trackers that Apple makes. Really good for finding your lost stuff as long as it's near other iPhones. It uses nearby iPhones to send out its location. They're super small and easy to hide.

People suck. One extra benefit of not having an iPhone I guess

I don't have one either. But if someone had stuck an airtag to my truck, even my neighbors phones could give it away

Yeah that's what I was using to see if I could hear the thing. I'll take it to work tomorrow. If that same air tag is still near me then it's attached to the truck.

MS and Google aren't exactly privacy saints either. Ever wonder how Google Maps gets such good traffic information?

You were implying that Apple was worse, but fair enough. Throw your phone in a river if you don't wanna be tracked.

No I only implied Apple was terrible, I agree with you that the rest of them are terrible too, they just weren't the subject of my sentence. Apple's user base is typically less informed and as a single entity larger too.. That might make what they do slightly more egregious. As for my phone it is very modified Android, none of the Google services are on it. At least none of them exist outside of sandbox profiles that limit their ability to access I/O. I'm a sysadmin at a prison... So most of my tech is pretty modified and unorthodox compared to normal consumer junk.
