We went out of town Saturday and Sunday. SW Michigan really got hammered, 5 tornadoes, still trying to restore power to people. We had power back late Friday. Thoughts and Prayers for everyone in Kentucky, so sad, I feel really lucky. Lineman are really stepping up around the country, those guys are really AWESOME, if you know a lineman, give them a hug and thank them

    Good Morning to all.

It may have already been discussed, but in the middle of the night, last Friday, a massive tornado made its way across Kentucky, and among other towns, it heavily damages Somerset and London, Kentucky. I mention these two towns specifically, because @wilcam47 lives in the Somerset area, and my in-laws live in London, about 2-3 miles from the path of the tornado. My wife and are are about 10 miles south of where the tornado went through London. Will and his family, my in-laws, and my wife and I are all safe, none of us suffered any damage. This part of Kentucky rarely ever sees tornados come right through. While the damage in London is significant, it went through a more sparsely built up part of town, so things could have been far worse.

Here is a link to a local news station's coverage. You can find tons of videos on YouTube, Facebook, etc.. Just look for something like "Kentucky tornado Laurel County", "London Kentucky tornado", "Somerset Kentucky tornado".... The supercell that spawned thi tornado moved for over 500 miles, from southeastern Missouri, all across Kentucky. There were actually 3 tornados spawned from this super cell, the first was the largest, and did most of this damage. The second dissipated before it got to London, and the third is not known to have caused much damage. The first tornado was on the ground for 55+ miles, a very unusual situation.

My wife and I drove past the London-Corbin airport on our way home from church yesterday. The airport is basically a total loss. My wife took these pics as we were driving. If you zoom in, you can see a fair bit of the debris in this area.

    Happy Monday afternoon.

It's sad to see pics and hear about all of the 'nader damage in the different parts of the country. There were some odd, strong winds and rains on Saturday evening around my area. I had to drive an hour south of my place on Sunday, I saw lots of blown over trees, a few of them hit houses and crushed cars. I hope that it wasn't any worse than property damage.
