The one and only fresh water car wash locally just closed last week, they’re building a storage place.

My part was to arrive today according to tracking, but as typical with USPS, it made it to Pittsburgh and they hastily forwarded it to Altoona! This is the second package in a row that they did this to me causing multiple more days of delay!

Ugh, i just looked at my supports. Looks like the side that attaches to the bed is going to be difficult to remove.

I also saw this video that might be a good replacement. Use stainless steel hard fuel line, and flatten the ends and drill a hole to attach. Although the fuel line might be expensive..

Project complete! Removal was harder than reinstall, but a new rod and all new bolts, it went in like butter!

The top was surprisingly easy to get off, maybe because I hit it with Seafoam Deep Creep a day or so ahead of time. I think they’re high enough out of the road salt that it didn’t take too much to get them off. The bottom was a different story. Remove 1 bottom flare bolt to get to the bottom bracket bolt. Put a 10mm on it and snap it right off.

The stainless fuel line idea isn’t as easy as the video showed. This bracket twists and bends. With a torch you may be able to reshape the line, but you’re not shaping it with just a hammer and a drill.

My brackets are a bit worse condition than yours. They almost crumbled when I looked at them

The RH one on my truck failed a few years ago. And then one of the upper bolts broke in the nut insert that's part of the bed; it was a PITA to drill out because of limited access. And I'm in TN- it takes us 20+ years to use as much salt/brine as PA does in one winter

I was really concerned about getting mine out, I was dreading ripping into it. I got lucky, and I get it, if it was frozen in there, you were in a world of hurt, access is not ideal. I’m guessing you drilled it out bigger and put a nut on the backside.

My truck is a ‘14, but I only have 48k on it. I noticed when I was under there today that my rear Bilstein shocks are a rusty mess. Looks like shocks are next. I put Monroe OESpec shocks on my last Tacoma and I was happy with them. I’m getting a state inspection in 2 days, I hope it passes.
