Looking for some recommendations for a bed mat. I want something weatherproof that holds items as still as possible, but something comfortable to use when I camp and sleep in the bed when I have a canopy over.

Hard to beat the Toyota bed mat. You'll probably be on a sleeping pad anyway.

Tractor Supply Company "stall mat" (horse stalls, I guess). 4ft by 6 ft, $50, cut to size in the truck bed. Thick and remains mostly slip-proof for me.

OEM for sure. It’s thick, heavy, durable, and doesn’t cost much more than the aftermarket ones.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
OEM for the win either from FB Marketplace or a crashed/junkyard Tacoma. Also watch out for dealer sales/coupon events. I got mine from Marketplace for $50 a few years ago; they're no longer that cheap but you could get lucky.

+1 for OEM here. It is very non-slip...to the point that I sometimes cuss it when I am trying to slide stuff into the bed.

When I first bought my 4G, Toyota didn't have the OEM 6' bed mat for some reason, so I ended up with an aftermarket one from TripleALiners if I remember correctly. Reminded me of a floor liner essentially for the bed as it had raised lips around the outside of it, and its non-slip surface holds things from sliding. But its also not impossible to slide things - kinda the best of both worlds IMO. When I traded the 4G, I got the same one for my 3G and other than it holding water after a good rainstorm, I still like it and recommend it. About $100 on Amazon when they are on sale (or at least that used to be the price a few months back).

For sure. It is usually trying to load bags of soil/mulch/deer protein two rows deep or sliding coolers forward to fit other stuff that is a pain. I have a bed rack and RTT on mine so it isn't as easy to just reach over the side and drag them forward.

Same (rack and RTT). My spring project last year required 2 trips getting landscape blocks, packing sand, and other misc items. It was more work loading and unloading than getting the project done.

If you don't want things sliding around, definitely OEM. I mean this things like velcro!

OEM is the best. Got this Bed Mat for $85 in Dec 2021.

The OEM Bed Lights were bought around the same time.
