Why don’t you replace that poor truck’s fender?

    They're 08 IS-F rims. 19x8, 19x9 staggered. Excited to try them on.

I just bought a set of Hyundai Elantra 16" wheels for my 1st gen 5-lug, It has the correct center bore and bolt pattern, but I'm concerned about the offset range. For my Tacoma it is 28-32 for a 16" wheel, but the Elantra wheel range shows 48-50+. Is that going to be an issue?

That means the tires mount that much closer to the outside face which moves the inside surface closer to the engine in addition to 1/2 the added wheel and tread width. Bigger tires also have taller sidewalls which increases the chance of rubbing but you haven’t said anything about what tires you’d like to mount. I suggest you start by measuring your clearance at full lock on both sides with your current setup.

I put 16" wheels on my minitruck- I think the size is proper for the size of the minitruck. I had to put some sidewall on the tire for the streets out here.

I think it was a good choice.

The wheels are from Rays Engineering Volk Racing

I have 16" Sonata wheels and they fit great. I can get more pics tomorrow if you'd like. The wheels are 16 x 6.5 with a 44 offset. Not sure if the extra 4-6mm on the Elantra wheels would be a huge deal as long as you're smart about tire size.

Just bought xrunner rims for base 05 5lug. Stock height no mods. What tire size should I run? Also any suggestion on brand or model of tire appreciated. No off roading highway only.

Stock tire size for them is 255/45r18. This puts you at around 1% larger than stock for the truck. As for brand that boils down to how much you want to spend and if you want a more performance oriented or all season set up. I personally like to run Michelin tires if possible. That said I currently run Kuhmo tires as Michelins in my size, 255/35r20 started at $270 a tire and the Kumhos were $100 per tire less.

255/45/18 will fit no mods? Should I consider any larger diameter sizes ?

AS long as you don't lower too far then yes, the 255 on the X-runner will fit great. They'll be flush with the fender in the rear and slightly inside the fender up front.

Here's mine on 255/35 on 20x8.5 +48 which sit about 1/2" further in than the X-runner wheels will. I've since switched to a +38 offset and rub in the rear on the fender liner under heavy load or large bumps, the front clears no issue. In the current set-up I'm about an 1/8" more tucked than the X-runner wheels.

No plans to lower truck anytime soon, if it all. Too many other projects currently on the go. Only reason I was considering going up in size was I saw this truck with xrunner wheels 235/55/18

That looks pretty good. Going with that size you'll only be 5% over sized, still easily able to fit under the stock fenders.

Is this an uncommon size? I realize my speedo will be off slightly but will my 4 cylinder have any trouble pushing these?

seems to be a decent common tire size from looking on Tire Rack. I doubt you'll even notice the difference while driving, where you'll notice it is with both the speedometer and odometer being off so it'll look like you gas mileage changed. It'll seem like you are getting 1 mpg less than normal, assuming you're getting around 20 mog currently.

If the wheels fit the base 5-lug like they fit an X-Runner, I would go with the stock size tires for an X. What's good about those 18" wheels is that you can fit a BBK under them.
