Clay it with the soap and water while washing it, saves the extra step, and cut your bars in half in case you drop one. Drop one and it’s over, especially on a black vehicle.

MRR versus 6112 is a big difference, more just in the adjustability factor of both speed compression and rebound adjustment. Dobinson IMS versus 6112 would be a much better comparison as those are both non adjustable. Not really in the same "category" since once is a resi and one is a standard non resi shock.

Overall I think ride quality is definitely better, spring/shock combo seem to be a bit more matched on the Dobinson (these are C59-350 springs) versus my 650lb springs on the 6112s. Low speed compression dialed up cuts my body roll probably in half compared to the 6112s so that was a big one. Other than that the MRRs are double the price so it's definitely a better product overall. Truck is a DD so I really didn't want the maintenance of shock rebuilds every 50k or so with King/Fox/Icon and this was a great medium before dropping almost 3k on a front set of 8112s which is definitely overkill for me personally.

Same I agree. That’s why I went with bilstein myself. I put dobison on my wife’s and love the feel but I drive way more than my wife does

    Good luck at dealer. :fingerscrossed:

Do you think it's worth it, to go step by step through instructions one more time before dealer?

Well I really don’t have a choice. The truck is in limp mode. I did clear the codes. ( once). And well limp mode is dealer mode for most people myself included.

Acquired my third gen towards the end of the pandemic. At the time Smartcaps were about 6 to 8 months out but I found a white contractor version near me. Finally got around to doing something about the whiteness. Raptor lined it and got it back on my truck. Does it look as good as having it painted to color match, no. Cost to me was less than $200 and some elbow grease. And I don't think it came out that bad.PXL_20250519_000448108.jpg PXL_20250519_230406282.MP.jpg

Blacked out my truck bed decal. You almost have to look at it sideways to see it. ;)

That really is where you need to start, but you can check all your fuses and brake and tail lights to make sure everything is good, as well as the battery...

Anyway, good luck and keep us posted...

You're doing everything blind and your main obstacle is the headliner. After you remove the hanger clips, you can pull the headliner down without any issue but only just enough to get your hand in there. Pull too much and you're gonna mess up your headliner. I removed the (2) panels at the rear seatbelts to get me a smidge more room. The nuts holding the light on are accessed through holes roughly 2" diameter, one on the left and one on the right(see the round hole to the far right & left in the 1st pic). Within those holes are guide pins which are part of the light assembly that are threaded at the bottom(see 2nd pic). You have to use a deep well socket and 1/4" ratchet to get to them. But be careful, you drop anything and it's gone until you get the light out, only then you can retreive them. I'd suggest having at least (2) deep well sockets so after you drop the 1st one (which I did) you have a back up. Re-installing the light wasn't as bad only because then I was familiar with the process. The nuts have the flange around them so I was able to use some painters tape to hold them to the socket and slide them down the guide pin. You cannot get your fingers in there to start them or slide them down the guide pins. You can get one finger in there but that's it!

Set aside some time for this, it's not going to be a quick install as much as one would think. Also, make sure you're in a good state of mind because it's going to try your patience!

I do not actually but there are a few video's on the 'Yutes about how to do it. Most with a Harbor Freight case.
