Compression and leak down test are easy enough to do at home. If compression is low, leak down will tell you why.

I got the Lang Tools leak down tester. It was a while back so my memory is fuzzy, but Lang seemed to the OEM for some better-known brands. For whatever reason, leak down testers didn't seem to be available as loaner tools when I looked.

Consistently low compression across the board sounds suspicious to me too. What are the odds, and what would be the cause, of all four cylinders losing compression at once?

Gpm is going to change depending on the time of day though right, the flow rate isn't gonna be the same at 6 pm as it would be at 2 am when my water kicks on.

That depends on your city water system. But yeah you can see reduced pressure and gpm during peak usage hours vs hours when no one is up. But that easy to fix buy just recording your data during those low usage hours. Usually water companies post those figures, because some places bill you at different rates depending on when you are using water. Then put the system on a schedule that operates in those hours

Yea I don't think we're that California yet, no price increase during peak usage

Water district may still post stats for water usage, and you should be able to figure out which peak hours are or you could just use general rule of thumb for peak hours. A proper system you’ll see some fluctuations but usually it’s pretty small anyways. as long as you have more building pressure then what’s required as sprinkler heads at all times, especially with pressure regulating heads you should always have an even dispersement

Did a 1200ish mile road trip in the wife’s 69 c10 last week. That little 400 dollar junkyard small block never let me down. Drank a pint of oil by the time we got home. Guess that means it’s officially a driver and not just a time suck for me.

Do need to figure something out on the fuel economy. First tank was 9mpg. And I didn’t check after that. Because it could only hopefully go up!

    First light coat is applied.

Stupid roller broke off the wheel, and although I've got another one I'll just go buy another two rollers tomorrow at HD before I coat the second pan.

Then by Friday I should be able to add a second coat over the entire thing.

    Yep.

Just glad the 3M is far less tacky today than yesterday. Apparently it isn't fully cured until it isn't tacky anymore and there's a huge difference from yesterday to today.

Taking awhile because there's no humidity here.
