Just noticed the thin little part of the driver’s side door stripping is torn and flapping about. I managed to push it back under the main rubber strip but I also noticed about 6 inches of the skinny part is missing.

What would you guys do? Repair? Replace?

I'm not sure that can be repaired. Probably have to replace it.

I doubt it’s torn or broken- the glue that holds it in place isn’t well holding it in place/dried out. My assumption is that it was possibly used/added on to fix a wind whistle by putting more pressure on the gasket.

I deep cleaned the drivers jam (paint and rubbers) couple weeks back- apc, rubber conditioner, ceramic spray. And I noticed the edges of that rope gasket wasn’t actually part of the gasket but glued on and the glue was dried out. If mine peels further I’ll just rtv a few dabs

You can see the dried out glue it stops at the end of the rope

Mine is doing the same. I just push it back in. Might want to try 3m weatherstrip adhesive if it keeps coming out.
