Can anyone confirm that the VF2CM transfer case from the 3rd gen will bolt up/plug in to the RA60F manual transmission in the 2nd gen? I've seen things here and there that it's not really any different from the VF2BM that comes in the 2nd gen, but just wondering if there are any caveats that have to be sorted out to get it to work?

I'm looking to pick up a used transfer case for my crawler box project and being able to source one out of a 3rd gen would definitely give me access to some lower mileage options.

    Thanks!

Pretty sure those will bolt up in place of each other perfectly fine. As long as it’s got the special manual spline and the o-ring sealing method, it should be fine.

Thanks again @BLtheP ! Answering all my questions this evening lol. This would be moot of course with the RC60F swap, but that's a bit longer term, in the near term I just need an auto tcase with the 23 spline input to mate up to the crawler box.

What o-ring sealing method are you referring to? I don't think it would be any different from the VF2BM to the VF2CM but who knows.
