I pretty much followed THExBUSxDRIVER's write up. Bought the 3M headlight restoration kit and used the sand paper that came with that to prep the tail lights to be painting with the VHT night shades. The sanding also took out any scratches that were on the tails. After painting with VHT I put like 15 coats of clear enamel to keep it from fading with time. Then used the 3000 sand paper on the clear enamel, then I used the foam pad that also came with the kit. Lastly I finished with Meguiars polish to finish it up. Like I said before follow the write up and you should be good.

No. I didn't have any runs. I was being real careful trying not to let it run.

It actually still transmissions pretty good still. My dad drove the truck and I followed in another vehicle and it seemed to be fine.

OP, great job. You've got a much shinier look than I currently do, but I am waiting on the last coat of clear to dry before wet sanding and polishing with compound. Here's what it looks like so far. Was concerned with over-tinting the brake and reverse lights so I took a different approach. Opinions welcome!

Well gents here's what it turned out like. Total time front first screw removal to last screw tightened 7 hrs 15 mins. Still a very light "orange peel" texture on the lens but my arms were tired as hell and I was happy with the shine.
