summer is creeping in and my ac is letting me down.

it gets warm at idle and honestly could be colder overall. I had the compressor replaced a few years ago which has gotten me by.

Is warm at idle likely the blower? Does anyone have any advice for me? I have a friend in commercial HVAC but I might just drop it off somewhere soon to have it restored asap. TIA

Validated my HG repair is working as expected. Definitely very nervous jumping into this ... but so far so good!

Did this outside -- so the truck and the bed with the camper shell with some tarps was my storage ...

... holding pressure ... started right up with no codes ... temp stable ... no bubbling ...

About 40 miles in ... ALL IS GOOD

    Well, I did!

But I'm going back into the engine next month or so to do the MAF and throttle body, I'll definitely consider the PCV at the same time.

    Thanks for the reminder!

Try one of the recharge bottles from O'reilly. When I bought my truck the AC was mediocre at best and came out of the passenger side stronger than the drivers side. Recharged my refrigerant and its perfect now.

Thank you, for kind words! I have to ask though, what do you mean by battery to frame? In the package I had the following negative battery cables:
    - Neg Batt to Starter
    - Neg Batt to Body/Fender
    - Engine to Frame

Since there were no videos and limited write ups I connected all the upgraded cable ends to the same contact points that the OEM harness did. The only exception being the alternator since it now connects directly to the battery with the added fuse protection.

In your photo you are showing what I considered the frame contact point. I attached the “Frame” end of the “Engine to Frame” cable there. The other end is attached to the negative contact point on the starter, along with the “Neg Batt to Starter”. That’s because the OEM harness made the same connections.

I was inclined to do my own write up, but this took WAY longer than I anticipated and I was rushing to get the truck running again at the end of the day.

Sometimes the minor things get me hyped.

The window switch trim was aging poorly after almost 20 years.

    Before: yellowing gray plastic
    IMG_8638.jpg

    After: slightly less yellow
    IMG_8653.jpg

I like how the gloss black ties the radio frame and steering wheel together on the interior
