I have a red taco 2017 and been wanting to run red letters on the sidewall. General Grabber used to have a decent A/T with these red letters but they don't make it anymore on A/T and now is only available on M/T.
I'm contemplating flipping the KO2's and using a red pen :crapstorm:and see how these things look. Anyone out there running red letters out and care to show and see how they look? Or maybe bad idea to run these on a red truck.

Coloring in white letters with a red pen will probably show up as pink, DO IT!!!!

It is your truck, it is your decision. Pick ANY color you want for sidewall lettering.

Some have yellow, some have white, some have blue, etc that I have seen around.

Seems low risk to try it out. Pretty much the cost of a paint pen.

As for predictions, I think it will look bad. A red paint pen isn't going to match Barcelona Red. Also, IMO, it will be too much.... I speak from experience, when I added too many red "accents".

But hey, it's your truck, do what makes you happy.

I doubt that paint-pen paint is going to hold up all that long. I'd try a test on a single letter and see how that wears over the next cycle of seasons.

I got YOKOHAMA tires with white lettering. I would've preferred black.

It takes a surprisingly long time to hand-color-in each letter on 4 tires with an industrial Sharpie. It is starting to fade slowly back to the original white color after 1 cycle of seasons.

Thanks all. Very useful comments and views. I am going to try and see how they look and post it here. If it looks bad I'll flip them and be done. I just remembered so we'll the general grabber and thought the red was good. Grabber_X3_SideWall.png

I agree those look awesome. I ran the Grabber ATXs for a long time and contemplated going to the X3s just to get the red letters lol

Which grabbers are those? I’ve never seen that tread design before.

I wish they offered the red lettering on more sizes of the ATX and the X3.

I'm running the General Grabber X3 E-load on my TRD OR. When I ordered them, they wanted a premium of $20-30 EACH!! for the raised-red-letters, so I just went with plain black. These GGX3 are a really great tire, much better than my experience with E-load BFG AT-KO3

This is 100% off topic for this thread but do you think the X3 is better on the road than the K03? Or did you mean off road
