Well I stretched her out to a 13" wheelbase by shortening the front by 2mm and stretching the back out by 8mm.

The lower links are stainless steel and the uppers are titanium. I got the "custom links" from https://hardcorerc.net/

Not quite done but, here are some progress pics. Pulled the motor apart and polished all the hardware in walnut shell media. Took the two copper bits and washed them in muriatic acid to polish them further. The pics don't do them justice as they look like a new penny after the acid. The stator had some tarnish and blemishes. Got my favorite tool (Dremel) out and polished every mm of the surface. I did not want it shiny. I wanted it to look like a brand new 02H would in 1990 something. Also took some acrylic paint and touched up the end bells and replaced the bearings. (The acrylic dries perfectly matte to match the OG paint perfectly.) I am going to brush the rest of the wire contacts with muriatic acid to clean them up as well. Had too much Red Bull so I could not do it yesterday without risking getting the acid in places I don't want it. lol
Gonna take a hair dryer to the motor wires to tidy up the insulation as well. ADHD and OCD are fun!
The most important part is to not blmeish the timing sticker or timing mark. Dudes do this and the motor is worth nothing to a collector or as a shelf queen addition.

Just dropped the hammer on a vintage Tamiya 540 Technigold in Singapore. Its cherry. I'll still go through it when it arrives. :]
Dude also has an 02H at a killer price. Must resist...

Anyone know of someone who makes discontinued parts for an ecx 1:10 torment 4wd? Specifically the bunpers, can be aftermarket as long as it fits.. the 2wd one did not fit.

I tend to break front bumpers and just got my rc car up and running after a few years out. Switched to a lipo also! I found one on ebay for now but the last front/rear set I ordered got cancelled by the shop. So worrying that if this breaks I might not be able to get another..

Well, I bought another Sherman for a buddy and a panzer for myself. Panzer's remote is dead out of the box. :(

Returning it to scamazon and hoping the shermans are better.

It looks like I inadvertently started a new business. I told a guy I loved the smell of paint fumes, and he's sending me a total of 4 possibly 5 bodies to paint. One will be a rusty, old patina, beat up Vanquish VS4-10. I guess a little side hustle wouldn't be too bad.

And suddenly we are friends. I hate painting bodies. Been procrastinating on one for two years. Sheesh...

Found some gold in Singapore. Cannot wait until these arrive and I can cherry them out. Replacement decal on its way from the U.K. The second one is another Tamiya Dynatech-02H from 1990 ish...
The first 02H refurbish was a learning experience. The muriatic acid brushed on the soft metals is amazingly effective. Walnut shells for the chrome and acrylic black for the matte black. not much I can do with the off-red wire. Apparently, this is not fading. I wish it were a true Brembo red but, Tamiya is known for doing some strange stuff. New bearings are already on the work bench. Stoked...

So, both the Sherman tanks work fine. I kinda wish the stick controls were flipped, but that's the gamer in me shining through. It's a sweet tank, the BB cannon is freaking awesome. I'll probably recover some funding for a bit and then try to get another tank for myself. I'm just glad the two that were gifts worked out.

I'm your huckleberry. I'm already knee deep in the Vanquish body but normally I can turn out three color paint jobs in about a week or less (backing counts as a color.) If your talking a custom job like this VS4-10, I'll need a couple weeks and a clear schedule. I do custom paint jobs only 1 at a time so I don't lose focus.

New tires for the 1/10! Went with some Injora Kraken Claws in 4.19”. 4.75s looked great when I had the jeep body but they were too big for this Tacoma. I’m going to lower the body posts a little bit and trim where it rubs.

Ok. I've been thinking about it. I'm open for business.
    1 color paint job $20*
    2 color paint job $30*
    3 colors start at 45**
Add stripes or stencils starting at $10

You can ship the body to me or I can purchase it for you for retail plus AZ tax and shipping. If I'm buying, I'll need a down payment for the body.

    * Iridescent, translucent, and metallic paints will incur a $10 upcharge.
** This is a starting price for custom paint. This is where we need to talk and share a vision before we can decide if this is worth it to you.

This is a 3 color paint job. This one is a just a 3 color with no custom work.

Picked up a used SCX6 a while ago and finally found some good spots to stretch its legs. I know they're expensive, but it's definitely my favorite crawler that I've ever ran. The size and weight make it handle much more realistically than anything else, and the suspension even creaks and squeaks like the real deal. It's usually hard to find good spots to run, but I recently found a few boulder fields that you could really only run a giant scale truck or maybe 1/10 buggy on and this thing is a blast! I'm definitely tearing it up far more than the previous owner. The only thing it leaves to be desired is all the plastic leads to so much flex in the steering system that you practically have to replace the panhard and servo mounts with aluminum. Too bad you can practically buy an SCX24 for each aftermarket part on this behemoth.
