I've been amazed at how much can be done with them for VWs. I would have figured the Taco could also be done. What surprised me is the TDI comes with a stock CAI pulling air from the grill. But the stock intake snakes around. The APR intake is the same thing, but without the snake so it's like direct ram air. Not bad for a couple hundies. Plus it's carbon fiber instead of plastic which looks a lot nicer, especially for the money.

    140HP / 236 ft/lb torque

The Taco 4.0 is 236 HP and 266 ft/lb torque.

So imagine practically the same torque in a little car. LOLOLOL!

Costs about $500-600 and from what I've read, easily removable and invisible to any scans done if you have to get it worked on.

i did this at one point. there is too much you would have to change out.

you would need a whole new wiring harness, new tranny, and based on the size of the motor maybe a new stronger rear end

Why have a diesel in a truck if you still can't throw anything in the bed???

I like my Tacoma - and I'm going to toy it out when it becomes a second vehicle. :D

I guess I got ruined for life with my first truck... it was a '73 F-250 with a 390 in it. That 2wd beast would push its way over/through most anything. I almost got it stuck once on a beach... until it bent the bumper to push over the ledge. It was awsome because it would pull a 20' trailer loaded down with hay like it wasn't even hooked up.

Still love my Tacoma though.... :)

the cummings sucks on diesel like its going out of style now. i would avoid it. its suppost to be averaging about 9mpg now. they added a 2nd turbo to it to raise its hp and torque ratings and the gas mpg suffered because of it. stick with the powerstroke
