On the riding younger thread, I tried to start in HS. Got a promise to find a new place to sleep. Wanted to join military, family wasn’t in favor though most had served anti guns lol. Few years later after HS in military, did my first MSF course been riding ever since. Of course got guns lol. I’m the black sheep…. Baaah. But I’m the dependable one too lol. Near 30 years riding still hear it that I should get rid of it. Still living my life ha ha. Any people I know want to learn I just direction them to an MSF course. They hate my sports car passion as well lol. They wonder why I don’t go visit as much lol

A new cycle gear has opened up near me, the grand opening is this weekend. I'm going there on the bonnevile to buy some new Enduro boots for riding the tdub. Even at my sedate speeds that I ride off road I should still have some good boots for that I think. Probably should get some new goggles while I'm there as well. My gloves are still good as well as my Kevlar helmet. Helmets old but it's in great shape, like new, and it fits well still. It was very expensive back in the day. I also got a rear rack for the tdub so I may take a look at a tail bag for it. For carying some water and tools and such. But I also like the hard cases I saw at harbor freight, I can come up with a way to mount it and there only 39 bucks and waterproof.

It’s said depending on helmet material (plastic) to replace every 5 years. I apply to everything that isn’t leather clothing wise too. I have a pair of extra seasonal pants as a layer approach too with padding ect to wear over jeans. Mostly just wear jeans though.

Why is it when I have the monies to buy stuffs.....it's always on backorder. I sold a camera and was gonna buy the 301 big bore kit for the bike. It's on backorder until late June.........so I used a little of the money and bought a matching rear rim

I got this fitted up last night. What a pain and im far from a professional fabricator. Going to grind/reweld some and then put it together to see if its straight

For like the last 5 years! This one popped up on Craigslist yesterday for $1800. 2021 original owner with low hours. His kid road it around the neighborhood which is why the tires are bald. Offered him $1300 and he took it  Has bar risers and some sweet lights that have a switch on the handlebar.

I watch the used market as well. Honda minis are the new gold. They just go up and up in value. Or should I say asking price. Mine is still parked in my parents garage. It hasn’t been started since 1990 give or take a couple of years. And I’m pretty sure it was parked with a full gas tank. What a mess that will be. I might have to source a new tank, and just hang the original on the garage wall.

Mine was beat to shit when we got rid of it. The kill switch(the run/off rotating one) was broken, so my dad taught me how to twist the wires together

Got the boots strapped to the bonnevile with a bunji net. Sweet brand new BMW s1000 parked next to me, dude picked it up yesterday. We had a nice chat.
20250524_111556.jpg Alpinestars Corozal waterproof adv boot.
Not as stiff as some of the boots, you can actually walk in these. For riding the little tdub these will be fine. Better than a work boot.
20250524_133216.jpg Oiled leather that is easy to maintain.
20250524_133235.jpg Nice sole and I like a raised heel too.
20250524_133247.jpg While I was there I purchased some new goggles that will work with glasses. I wasn't wearing glasses last time I was on a dirt bike, lol.
20250524_133341.jpgThese are nice, lots of rubber on the strap so they stay put.
20250524_133516.jpgThey fit the opening of my helmet well and do work with my glasses.
    20250524_133533.jpg Well I'm $400 dollars lighter now.
The Alpinestars rep was in the store, he was very helpful and answered my questions.

I have been wearing Oakley glasses for the past two decades or more. I only buy their goggles so that I don't have to worry about them working with glasses :D

At an Italian restaurant for lunch with the wife. Rode the scooters because it’s such a nice day. Eating an Italian club with grilled chicken and bacon. So good, also a Mac and jack just because.

Finally got the BMW clean and fueled up. Tried the S100 stuff, that stuff really worked great on the wheels and motor.

You should know by now I'm terrible at pictures. I'll try to remember to get some tomorrow. Going to be replacing the BMW medallions on the tank with some new ones I've had for years now. And tighten up the mirrors now that they are where I want them.

I've used that stuff for years, it's excellent and has never damaged any surface of any bike I've used it on. Just be sure to rinse well so you don't get streaking.
