Redefining squat. Had to be close to 2500lbs or more.

How come I never met the crowd that is actually down for shuttle days like this? I’d have ridden so much more lol.

stupid college friends dont get it...

Just got my ship out date for OCS. Octover 7. Means I at least stay in reno/tahoe until my lease is up end of july. If anyone wants to do shuttle days in the area let me know. I'll also be at northstar at least 4 times (got some employee voucher passes off a friend before he moved out of reno). And I'm sure I'll go pedal the likes of cold creek and Mr Toads in southlake at least once each. I've got the bike listed for sale and if anyone gives me enough I'll say screw it and sell it then. But gonna try to enjoy the last chances to ride for at least the next 2.5 years. likely more given the likely duty stations after flight schools done.

Well, it only takes 3-400 lbs to put the Tacoma on its bump stops, after that, it’s not squatting anymore so you might as well load it up!

We have a friend out here that would love to ride with you. We always shoot down shuttle days in favor of longer pedal days. Once I’m on the bike and sweating, last thing I want to do is cram into a vehicle, let my heart rate fall and cool off. We also don’t have the huge vertical gain out here that you guys do either…

Some. Been trouble free, and more durable than wired/cabled. I personally didn't think I'd like the AXS Reverb enough to warrant it, but I was wrong. I absolutely HATE having to re-cable droppers, and over time the lever gets harder to push. The incredible light action of a button to drop it won me over, and they are really responsive. Don't love the boner look of the new design, but its price is much better and it's a solid piece of kit.
Agreed with @PhoS though, worried about breaking it off.

Hahaha - I know who this is....

I tend to agree with the above statement (as I am always shooting down the idea of shuttling). First and foremost I despise the planning it takes to efficiently place vehicles around a trail network - someone always leaves their clothes or keys/wallet in the wrong vehicle and it becomes a problem. All comes down to personal preference, but the downhill is always more sweeter when you climbed up to the top (within reason). Again it is all body types and individual strengths, but I really like climbing to begin with; something about the pain, high heart rate, gasping for air, having the legs fill up, and the mental push to keep going and overcome all the brain signals to stop that is freeing. No time to think about all the stress in life when you're trying to stay vertical.

That said, I do love a good downhill day at the lift access mountain, but don't get the same satisfied feeling with the post ride beer.

    :crapstorm:

Wasn't looking to start the great dropper debate of 2025. It was mostly just an old fart rattling. I know they can do better though, and if you haven't noticed I'm very anti-sram having been burned so many times by their products. For now give me 3-4 Oneup v3s over a $860 transfer neo please. :transformer:

All about that type 2 fun. A nice descent feels so much better after you’ve climbed 10, 30, 60 minutes to get to the top.

The tires still feel it. So does the frame when you hit something. Suggest maxing
air when you hyper load it. Just a thought since traction shouldn’t be an issue.

The battery relocation makes sense now. I have a small bike and I'm not tall so relocating the battery to the front of the post keeps it from getting hit by the rear tire at full compression while the saddle is dropped (not that I've ever done that on any bike as it will probably require a substantial huck to flat). The new AXS Reverb has a softer top out sound and since it's air over air, there is way less maintenance (and it looks like the maintenance is as easy as rebuilding the air spring on a fork).

It also makes it easier to strap a tube back there. Your profile shot shows that it’s not really in the way of riding.

I know, I was sort of being sarcastic…. I haven’t had a Tacoma in a bit now, I’m on to a F250 now so my concerns about payload no longer exist :anonymous:

It's not. My significant other is 5' 2" tall so her seat post will be about 1 to 2" lower which would make the old battery location at risk.

That’s the advantage of having my Reverb on my gravel bike. Only 75 mm of dropper travel and a much smaller tire. Oh, and 0mm rear suspension travel.

Man the rear GC being all black really does look better than all the Maxxis logos.

First time she’s out of the basement and in real light.
Super stoked on her way it turned out. Even more stoked to get her out tomorrow morning.
