Rear shocks installed, too hot to do the fronts today. Trying to lock the rear tire, hopefully this is good enough. Found a way to keep the tonneau cover from being popped open with a coat hanger.

They will stretch out and smooth over once you sit in them awhile. i had washed them and let them air dry so they have some wrinkles

Yeapp, only going to be 94° here today. Nice shocks how do they feel on road?

Does this sign, say, open tonneau cover then run?

Most likely. Organic matter is undefined.

    A few bags short.

Probably response to post with a fridge in cargo area, or in rear cabin.

Been debating getting a phone mount. I've come across a few that I really like - the idea of. But they are in the $100 to $200+ range. I've even seen one that was $300+. And of course they all require various disassembly and holes drilled and what not. Then after you get the mount and balls (why those aren't standard is anyones guess) then you get hooked into their accessories and you start paying more.

So I got one of these instead.

    upload_2025-5-24_11-37-57.png

For $21 it's a great proof of concept to try out the location.
And for the record, I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max in the thickest Pelican Case they made at the time. So yes the phone is unweildly to begin with and that mount isn't built to handle a phone that size. But it just barely does and it held on even when off roading. I'm impressed with the mount. For $20 bucks I expected to get thoroughly Temu'd on this one.

Here's what I learned - I hate having my phone up there.
    1. It overheats in the sun.
    2. It partially obscures the Head Unit Display / Infotainment display.
    3. I have to pin unlock the phone but the head unit is right next to it so why wouldn't I just go with the head unit?
    4. Focusing on the mounted phone while driving (smaller screen) is way more difficult than the main head unit display.
    5. I still have the wire to contend with. Sure a more permanent solution would be to get rid of that but a more permanent solution is also more permanent $$$ that you no longer have.

I think I'm going to stick a mag mount next to the E-Brake Handle or just keep tossing it in the little cubby where the weak ass Toyota charger is located.
Long term I'm looking at one of those giant tablet sized screens.

I got them off aliexpress surprisingly, the link is dead but check it eBay or Amazon. Search Tacoma door panel pockets or storage should come up.

Nice looking Caliraised Skid. I like it in black. I have a new in box one I'm going to sell. I ended up just putting on a OEM Toyota one yesterday. Mechanic let me use his lift. Made for an easy install. Pairs well with Talons Garage Catalytic Convertor/Skid plate. TRD OEM Skid.jpg Talons Garage CAT Shield.jpg .

    Washed, clay bar, waxed.

Did what @Scotfree suggested and used the soapy Mr. Pink car wash as the clay bar lube to save time. 2 hours. Good enough for the summer & Mall parking lot certified.

Picked up and a matching spare with a 33” that definitely doesn’t fit for $150

That’s a great excuse to get the next set of tires you are looking at, but really that’s just a flesh wound I would run it out on the rear axle to be safe.
