Started my sound deadening project. The weekend before I worked on all four doors. Yesterday I tackled the rear wall (I understand that's the area where the most improvement will occur.) A layer of sound deadening material to reduce vibration followed by a layer of Silles foam to reduce noise and provide a degree of insulation. I'll see how much of an improvement I get after I run my errands later today. While I had the back wall open, I decided to change out the stock factory subwoofer and replace it with a drop in Pioneer sub. It's not an earth shatter change given I'm still working with the OEM amplifier but it's better than the factory paper-like offering.

Bringing it back “old school”, always loved the supercharged emblem from TRD back in the day from the. 3rd gen 4Runner days.

    Thanks!

I might pull the trigger on a newer 3rd gen later this year or a 5th gen 4Runner, but the ol stick shift Tacoma just has something those newer vehicles don't. I have to keep it as a 2nd vehicle.

Maybe it's the smell of the mouse nest I never fully got out of the vents, maybe its the rock chips from the previous owner, maybe its the beat up synchros singing the song of their people.

Thanks to all the help I have gotten on here to get me this far!

Fixed where the retainer clips snapped on my lower valence spoiler either during driving or installation. Don’t know if they were put on wrong or cheap clips but the new ones seem to be doing okay. Was a little more gentle with it. Xrunner mod lookin good
    IMG_5162.jpg

Also hammered some of the upper support rail for the passenger fender from where I wrecked to close the bumper gap some more and I think it turned out pretty good for now

    Man,

The more I read the more I want to do.

Just ordered a big 7 kit and the components to do up my aux panel.

It's awesome how supportive community this platform has.

Installed an overhead molle panel from Hooke Road. Then I took a steamer and plastic scraper and removed the cracked dingy paint protection film to freshen up the look of the truck. Given the time it took to remove them, I'll never apply paint protection film ever again.

Will be able to see behind me better in the dark now…(not really, the big ass tire makes seeing behind me difficult regardless of the light situation, but when there are holes in which lights go in, I feel compelled to put lights in…)

CVJ axles and a new passenger side axle seal. The driver side removal and replacement was pretty simple and straightforward. The passenger side on the other hand....... somewhere between 45 mins and an hour just to get the old one out. Went back and forth between prying and smacking it with a cold chisel. Finally popped it out and the install wasn't too hateful. I was starting to get really worried that something internal to the diff was messed up. Also swapped my RCI aluminum engine skid for the steel version.
