ARB Twin Air Compressor Help

I had a shop not local to me install a new unit under the passenger seat. It worked fine at the shop. A few days later I tried using it and it isn’t working. I heard a click when I tried turning the unit on like a relay would make. Subsequent attempts to turn on doesn’t work obviously but that click is no longer present.

The installer is 16 hours away so that’s not an option. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

 

Learn how the relay works. Trace power (or ground) loss from there. If its new, previously worked and audible relay click there's not too much it could be past that.

 

Check the fuse.

 

The compressor should have two fairly large fuses where it connects to the battery. Pull those and test continuity of each with a multimeter; they can appear "good" even when they're not if you're just looking at them.

 

Have you tried reaching out to the installer?

 

No its only a 50 ft cable. Besides it doesn't work.

 

What fuses did they tap under the dash for the power switch and switch led? Is something loose?

When you say fuse do you mean and is there a fuse inside the compressor or part of the wiring harness?

The user-installation manual would specify if there is a supplied inline fuse or not.

 

I did a little checking today. There are two inline 40A fuses in the compressors wiring harness. They both checked out good. I have another 80A fuse just before the positive terminal on the battery. That checked out open. I will replace and recheck. This would be nice if my troubles end right here. I truly appreciate all of you who took the time to lend me a hand. Much respect guys.

 

Blowing an 80, and slowly looking at the heat effect. Something else seems amiss. Make sure all your electrical connection points are clean and well tightened.
