We still talk about a huge snowfall from like 2009 . . . .
It stayed for days, took the power out for 24hr, trees came down, the whole fuckin 9 yards

 

Was it in '93?
I was guessing, since it was a long time ago.
But yeah, round about that time

 

Wasn't there a big storm around here in '93? I want to say there was, I was only 4 so I don't really remember that far back

 

'94 it was the year we moved to hagerstown. Dropped 4-5 feet in one storm and gave me false hopes about every winter here since.

Yeah, the Saint Patrick's Day storm.
Heavy snow and to top it off, ice on the power lines.
Lots of people without power.

 

There was one March '93 and then another in February '95. I remember the one in '95.

I seem to remember now that was the first year being in the house on Buchanan Trail as a kid. Parents didn't have a snow blower then. After that they did

 

I will never live somewhere that causes me to buy a snow blower...

I moved back to Pennsylvania and we shacked up until the wedding in October
I think she got tired of shivering alone in the dark, huddled next to her kerosene heater.

I was metaphorically agreeing with you. There are so many of those events etched in my brain… Snow of ‘72, May 3rd Flood, and I’ve lost count of thee Hurricanes…

 

I remember me and my brother tunneling through the snow in the front yard on that storm. Was able to get on the roof super easy as well

 

When we settled down in our marital bliss, Mrs Gritto was never cold again.
I know what you're thinking, but stop that


I brung along my generator (every subcontractor has one).
I bought a two stage, self-propelled snowblower.
I installed a wood stove and started cutting firewood in the State Forest (by permit).
I brung along my cats ... no more mouse turds in Mrs Gritto's cabinets.
