    My mom worked for Ma Bell forever. Use to go in and watch them use the switch board. 10 pound headsets is right.
    Yes they plugged and unplugged cables like crazy. “Number Please” and “How May I direct your call” was always in the air. I plugged in a time or two and the reaction to the old biddies was funny. Private lines were never private. Lots of fights on party lines.
    Lots of gossiping about calls..

    Stanley Cup starts today.

    The Munro table top hockey game was built from 1932-1955 in Toronto, Ontario. Mr. Munro couldn't afford to buy his kids Christmas gifts during the Depression so he built them this game and then started consigning them to Eaton's Department Store. Mrs Munro crocheted the goal nets. My wife got me this one from an antique shop 40 years ago.

    My mom used to have a job at one of these little boxes . There was a local photography place in town that had a couple . I was considerably smaller back then but it couldnt have been more that four foot across , I had to sit in the floor , there wasnt room for two chairs . She quit after getting robbed at knife point by a guy that dropped his film off all the time , needless to say she gave his name and address to the police when they showed up.

    We had one near our house, at the 7 Grand shopping center. It was located at 7 mile road and Grand River. It had a Great Scott grocery store on one end and a Federal’s Department store on the other end, and a Sims men’s store
