The 21 Tacoma 2wd was one owner the dealership is asking $27,000 for it?I can get a 150,000 Mile bumper to bumper added ..the total out the door with keys in hand is $31,780

    Is it worth it?

    It has a clean Carfax...

Worth it? Only you can really answer that question. I guess their price is not crazy but check KBB for a ballpark figure to compare it with.

PS: I am vehemently opposed to purchasing extended warranties! But in this case maybe it might be worth it. Try to negotiate the price of their warranty and make damn sure it is one that really pays for repair when you need it! Some / most of these products really really suck!!!!!

Going to test drive it in about a hour..it's for my wife
The warranty is thru AWGS (AMERICAN GUARDIAN WARRANTY SERVICE) Platinum 150,000 or 10 years

I found a 23 Ranger 4x4 with 37,000 miles for same price...we're just not sure of the Rangers longevity.

For that price you can get a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek, which is of course not a truck
but it is a damn good car. Bought one for my daughter and it's impressive.

I just got my wife into a new lexus. We test drove like 10 different vehicles. If she doesn't 100% love it on the test drive, keep test driving others and see if theres something she likes better.

    My 2 cents though

My guess it will have enough small print to make it worthless to you and pure profit for the dealer.

Also guessing it's 150k total miles, not additional. Meaning you'd only be buying a 62k warranty.

We do that too. We rent prospect cars for a week at a time. Really get to know it.
Settled on Subaru Forester for the wife, Crosstrek for the daughter and the Tacoma for me.

You did not specify if 3.5..If so have them check the rear coolant crossover pipe for pink corrosion = leak. Also inspect the timing chain cover for leaks.

I agree with what others are saying:
Maybe look at a new, base model that could end up being cheaper in the long. Depending on how close you are to NC, they have 1.99% financing on new Tacomas. Paying cash? Throw that money into a HYSA and make 4.00% interest, while paying 1.99% interest.

Also read up on the warranty offered. Sales person is going to make it sound great, but the actual details could come back to haunt you when they won't pay up when you were depending on them.

You are correct 150,000 miles from original date of purchase so 60,000 miles bumper to bumper.

Don’t buy those crap aftermarket warranties, they find ways to weasel out of the repairs

Seems high priced to me as well

Talked them down to $31,650 with warranty..

Test drove it everything seems great..holds straight line on road.... climbed underneath it on passenger side I didn't see any pick residue or any oil leaks at all.

Came out of Florida was traded in for new Chevy Surburban.

The warranty is thru American Guardian Warranty Service anybody hear of this company? It's only offered thru dealership? ? It can't be bought individually.

    Read the warranty. Closely.

Saying this so if you return sometime to discuss an uncovered repair I can have a legit 'we told you so'. :D

Easy bucko. Some of us need some utility and have no need for 4wd. It's ok.

Granted, I haven't shopped them in a while but that 'out the door' price is within $300 of what I paid for mine brand new in 2016 with only 1 mile and 4wd.

Because some of us like multipurpose useful daily drivers, the most offroad we do is an occasional grass parking lot, and in at least my case, it doesn’t snow in Florida.

Cars can’t carry a few full sheets of plywood, 25 bags of mulch, or my wife’s latest Ikea purchase and then when I’m done, just as easily load my little girl in the back seat and take her to Disney.

If it fills his need, it fills his need.
