was looking at that molle panel. Any thoughts or opinions? Does it seem solid? Any noise or rattling?

One of the oldest mods I have saved in my bookmarks. Finally had the time, tooling and patience to knock it out..

Also finished up the an lines for ps and transmission.

The love for these trucks is tremendous. And while we all do something unique to make them ours, I wanted something out of the ordinary that wasn't, and in this case, couldn't be bought in a store. I wanted a lighted grill emblem. I tried different ideas along the way but thanks to the help of my best friend and his 3-D printer, I finally have something I really like and think is truly original.
Attatched are 3 pictures of the progress from stock to "Arc Reactor" and the final 3-D printed and back-lit version.

Revisited the spindles i welded back a couple of years ago in preparation to put everything back together..

Refinished the upper steering linkage in Seymours ss spray. Stuff is pricey but man its definitely been my favorite along with the alumni blast.

Check engine light popped for MAF sensor. I cleaned it and discovered that the previous owner did this to the air intake box. Is it ok to leave it like this? Also why would they put holes in it?

Personally I wouldn’t leave it like that, it’s just going to suck in hot air from the engine bay. He did it to give the engine more air. If you can’t find a stock intake box for cheap, you should get an aftermarket and it will pull in colder air plus more air than stock.

It is constructed very well, using carbon steel and powder coated quite nicely. This morning was the first time I took the truck through some patchy street surfaces and I found it to be pretty solid with no rattles at all. The only noise I'm hearing inside the cab is from an annoying light rattle coming from the front passenger tweeter area that I plan to address this weekend. I found it to be a pretty good buy at $70 from eBay.

This is on my mind as well. What made you choose 4.88? Did you consider 5.29? I keep going back and forth with myself…:annoyed:

Throw that airbox in the trash and replace it with a factory one that isn’t hacked up.

the good news is lots of yards are full of Toyotas, and an air box is the one thing likely not being removed for parts... i see a red coupler that isn't a TRD airbox is it? which is really sad if it is.
