I can hear a plastic like tick when I am doing over 50mph I saw a few guys on Tacoma4g had the issue with rear panel trim and some with no solutions.

Seems like air getting in a creating wind vibration somewhere.

Any ideas or sure fixes ?

Not my video but sounds just like this. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/pzZ_5fJYua0

Sounds like mine did.. I tore mine apart looking, it ended up being the engine splash guards in the front wheel wells. Just tap on them to see if they are loose? I removed them (2 on each side) and taped over the holes with 2 layers of electrical tape, cut an X in the middle and reinstalled zero problems since!

No shit ! I gotta try this. It really sounds like something inside the door but that makes sense with speed being the catalyst.

Yeah that’s what I thought when I found it! After all the time taking the front end apart apart and putting it back together! Just glad it’s over, it was driving me nuts!! :angrygirl:

You're a genius, Fixed and test driven. I only did the drivers side and the sound is gone.
Wild the sound transfer sounded like window or door area.

    Thank you very much

Good to know in the future if mine decides to rattle. Appreciate this thread.

Mine was fine until around 15K miles,
Glad to help!! Mine was both sides, and at times it would alternate from pass/driver side other times both? Sounded kinda like the injector noise at first but got much worse, like in the video you shared.

I'm taking to dealer tomorrow for diagnostics. I was going to drive it with a stethoscope and start listening around the door. HAHA.

Dealership found the culprit. I have yet to test drive but it makes sense with speed being the catalyst.

Here is the link to other forum where I posted the videos.

Poor guys that have the whistle probably took off their front air dam and now have whistling lol. Someone go tell them.

I had the same thing. Slight hum once the lower air dam was removed - You have to plug the holes in the lower control arms. - Amazon plugs - Its like whistling on the top of a bottle effect.

This was great! I have taken my door panel off twice putting foam and double sided tape around every thing I can find. The splash guard was my issue…Super loose. I put a piece of thick double sided tape behind each clip and it’s now tight as can be and no more rattle! Thank you for this
