How does that smoked chrome finish look up close? I ordered a set and had to send one back for internal damage and debris. Still not loving the quality of finish on the other.

It’s funny you mention the debris. Mine has a small thread near one of the turning signal lights, doesn’t bother me as I got these for the low/2nd hand but you should get the quality you deserve.

Awesome guys, thanks for the replies. I have more trust in reviews/opinions from TW members than the ones on Big A

Not who you quoted here, but try to compare your new ones side by side. I ordered the PRO headlights (from dealer) and although I did check for broken tabs and whatnot, I didn’t put them side by side. A few months later when I installed them, the color/shade were noticeably different. Both were visibly darker than the chrome offroad ones I was replacing but differ enough I noticed. Put em in anyway. Wife got home, looked at my truck and said “ Looks like your truck has a black eye”:annoyed::annoyed:

Not on the taco -- but I did torque the lug nuts on our 2016 Santa Fe today. My son got back from a camping trip saying we need a new CV or tie rod or ? something ? b/c there is constant clunking down by the axle. We're supposed to drive it 1000 miles Sunday so I was concerned. We jacked it up. I rotated the wheel back and forth and immediately realized the wheel was loose.

4 of the 5 lugs were loose on the driver side and 2 of the 5 were loose on the passenger side. Crazy. We did get it aligned and tires rotated recently so I'm guessing they just tightened "to spec" ... I guess. Either way -- the clunking is gone. All wheels are torqued to spec. PSA to maybe do a bolt check before any big trips for peace of mind :)

blast the lug studs with brake cleaner, and the side of the nuts let them dry a bit. Some reason my used Santa Fe had some kind of like anti seize in the lugs that absolutely despite cranking them down to spec would get loose. but I've also seen in my own garage my electric impact once it gets lower on battery wont get anywhere close to the spec usually im pretty close, but anything under about half battery i better make sure the torque wrench is available.

From what I’ve read, 4.88 are recommended for my set up. Even ECGS recommended I go with 4.88.

A couple weeks back a truck pulling a trailer loaded with scrap metal was ahead of me on the highway. They had a piece of. What looked like angle iron fall out. I got lucky and when it went under me the only thing damaged was my muffler. It punched a hole in the original muffler and caved in a good portion of it.

On to today, put in a new Magnaflow Overland system. Quick and easy job. About 45 minutes start to finish.

The same shit everyone else has.

It peels right off like aluminum foil because it’s not “glued” to the plastic.

Catch a sharp razor blade between the chrome and the plastic.

Hit it with 220, 320, then some high build primer.

    Block it smooth then paint.
