This point there is lots of metal, but no explanation for it. everything i took off felt tight, no slop in the wheel bearings.

Pulled the 3rd member, i noticed a notch on the housing. no idea what could cause that.
    IMG_5115.jpg IMG_5116.jpg

3rd member on the bench to inspect.
I dont have the tool to measure backlash, but felt fine. Maybe felt like more then normal. not enough to justift the amount of metal.

    Teeth look fine.

    Found that this shim moves.
    https://youtube.com/shorts/sC3EGCgzDdU

more research told me this is the Side Gear Thrust Washer and its normal for it to have movement.

These bolts Came loose and backed out in a previous Life of this differential. Leading theory is that the metal im seeing is left over from that event.

    Pinion preload is 4-6 inchlbs
    backlash is 4-8

Going to run it like this. Attempted to paint a pattern my paint was too runny didnt really work, and no easy way to spin the ring gear.

    IMG_5142.jpg

Painted behind the locked actuator and got a little out of control with it. Got around to organizing my bolt drawer while i was waiting for it to dry.

that's the coast side id be more concerned with the drive side but its still an acceptable pattern according to pictures on the net of patterns.

I only drove 5 minutes down the road but it seemed fine. Everything was wet so harder to tell.

I wonder if the tire had something to bump up against it might not shake.

As of right now it would be the metal post that would bump into the tailgate.

Might cut it here. give it a little more space to wobble.

I also doubled the size of the plate that the latch pulls into. More surface area will mean less flex?

Larger contact plates did firm it up a little.
    IMG_5220.jpg

Also made a standoff from the existing bolt holes in the Diamond Back. Needs to be made slightly larger.

Re printed slightly larger. Might save my tailgate? who knows. good for now.

Replaced the Tensioner pulley with a random not correct one. I think the engine isnt as noisy now.
Seems to work fine. I think it is a lower idle pulley instead of a tensioner one.

    Actual part number

Fixed my Brake error light. for some reason the computer had all my ABS sensors listed as faults. But i cleared them all and only my broken sensor shows now. No more error light just the abs warning light.
