It's Toyota's way of keeping up with the competition. Instead of poor reliability they have poor plastics. I'd rather have poor plastic than poor everything. My Taco is at 40k miles now and hasn't needed a trip to the dealer for service. A domestic truck would have been raped several times by every tech in the service department by now. ;)

Reliability and well built is why I bought it . Plus always wanted a nice one . Its just how much money is toyota saving by making a cheap material cheaper . Not much imo just greed by toyota but all car manufacturers are like that . The good out ways the bad absolutely . K im done bitching about it .

Everything Toyota is going down on build quality. Look at the 4th gen's, all the interior panels have play, the door panels have way too much movement when closing the doors. Just the nature of the new car business........

I remember in a commercial, Toyota aims to have their products be blended into the Mother Nature someday at the end of its life expectancy. They are relentlessly working toward that promises

I would wager that its griping just to hear oneself talk, and the actual root of FUD is sedatephobia.

By all means, don't let me stop you. TacomaWorld would really benefit from 27 additional pages of constant Eeyoring about something that hasn't actually broken.
