Be very interesting to hear how that works out, if they do it. Best of luck with whatever they end up doing for you.

I've read a couple articles that Northwestern University up in Chicago is doing some clinical trials using, I believe stem cells, to reverse permanent nerve damage from spinal cord injuries. I've halfway thought about looking into offering to be a study candidate, to see if that could do anything good for me. I have a fair amount of permanent nerve damage from my spinal tumor in 2007.

So very sorry to hear of this. I will send prayers for her, and the rest of your family. I certainly hope the best possible outcome is how this plays out.

Well, I had my last ketamine treatment yesterday. It didn’t really work for me. I’ve been going for the last year and didn’t see a significant change. Now that I’ve turned into a junkie from the ketamine, I’m going to try something new. It’s called transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Insurance approval has been dragging so the doctor thought it would be a good thing to wait on this new treatment allowing me to get out to the Cape this summer as the TMS is daily for 6 weeks. Doctor sees therapeutic value in me going to do something I’m looking forward to. So hopefully a little beach time will help and I can try the new therapy after that.

    Where is everybody?

And the mast is up. There still needs some adjustment to the stays. It looks like I positioned the new mast mount a little bit forward of the old mount that’s at the bottom of Long Island Sound. I’m still over the compression post so I’m not sure if I’m off or not. So I’ll have to make a few more adjustments to the stay mounts on the mast. I was able to get the side stay shrouds correctly tensioned using a new tension gauge. Wow, the old ones were loose.

Yeah, early last summer. Reminents of tropical storm Debbie. Only went out once on it last year. That was an expensive sail.

It’s useable the way it is. I’d just like to get the tension similar on all 3 stays.

Came in to relax with you all.

Thank you very much for not running me off. This is a mature & good group who are my peers to vent to when this type of thing pops up & I appreciate every one of you.

Honestly its been a pretty shitty few months. We saw this building & were doing our best.
But my wife is a very very strong personality who gets her way all the time every time.
This just kept getting worse... It never bottomed out & it still hasn't.

The update is that they did do a psych eval on her today & they "pink slipped" her. They tell me this means that she is no longer allowed to make decisions on this & it now reverts back to her family.

That would be my girls, me & MIL. The Psychiatrist said that she is no on involuntary hold & will be requiring inpatient care for a bit. We are fine with that as this is NOT something we can handle at home. AND I'm home with her alone which is a huge no in this type of thing.

Wife has endlessly professed her love for me, to me & to them, but when someone is this out of control ? You need 2 people around at all times for de escalation, safety & unfortunately as a witness.

So the immediate plan is to get her to the inpatient place. Get the exact diagnosis & find a treatment plan that works. Get her into it, get her stable.... THEN try to bring her back out to public. Whether that be here or at another location.

It was mentioned that she has refused diagnosis & treatment on many occasions & that this is a fairly late in life breakthrough for a first time of this level. They said that if she wont take the medicines we will probably have to go to what they called a long term injectable.

Where she will have to go to the DR or Hosp, get the shot in person & then X amount of time later come back. This eliminates her not taking the meds.

This is all new to me & we'll see how it goes but im maxed out & getting a tiny break.

Come in relax, vent, do whatever you need anytime. We’re here for you. Hopefully, when your wife gets on the proper medications, she’ll turn around. I can’t stress enough how mental illness is like any other medical problem. There’s no stigma here. Your job is hard, to support her. Reach out to someone for help (ie therapist) if you need to. It’s not an easy road. Believe me, I understand.

The more you discuss it, the better you will feel about it and deal with it.

We always play with two and sometimes three. Today is three he laid one on top of the other and has all three in his mouth and you can’t get them loose with a winch.

Went a few miles above us but thank you. It passed about equally between us if he’s right in the Waxhaw area or slightly south of waxhaw.
