I need to go back up there and do it again. I'm going biking in Whistler in July. I would go up along Harrison Lake again, but I'm pulling my trailer.

I know San Francisco has some wild hills. I'm not sure if they still allow cars on Lombard Street.

Clear Creek Management Area out Hwy 25 from Hollister. It requires a permit but that is done easily on line and then you are emailed the gate codes with the receipt.

Hollister Hills recreation area is a great place to experience lots of different terrain.

This is one small climb, the stair step, in the obstacle course section of the park. There are lots of different trails with different levels of difficulty in the park.

There are many YouTube videos about Hollister Hills. Don't let the videos of the extreme sections and obstacles scare you off. There are miles of easy to moderate full width trails that any good stock 4x4 can handle. The Hollister Hills map indicates each trail and they are color coded based on difficulty just like ski runs. Then there is the obstacle course with obstacles that are mild to extreme. You just do the ones you are comfortable with and sit and watch folks try the extreme ones.

Here is a video of the rock pile, it's fun to watch the rigs built for rock crawling attempt it. NO! That is not me......

If you go, take pictures and post them here.

Last week I took you to the three corners of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. Today I headed across the state. Not sure if this violates any state laws but Im target shooting with my 10/22 firing from New Mexico and my target is in Colorado. Lol

I'm not sure why people do this shit. But they do. Hiking along having a grand old time. I find a hammer. Not unusual. I've probably found 20 to 30. But 1/8th a mile across calm terrain i found an old Native American Grave. Obviously Its been kicked over, someone carried the hammer then dropped it because of guilt or simply the weight. I rebuilt the monument as best I could tell it was meant to be. Replaced the hammer artifact to its grave site, and decorated the entire area with desert flowers before I left.

Some high-school kids or drunk adult probably didn't think of the consequences of there actions. Im just happy to fix the grave, release the anger and let this part of New Mexico move on.

Anyone who has read this thread. Doesn't need lecturers on leaving our ancestors alone. We all get that. But it is 100% ok to help those souls. I didn't change the tomb. I only rebuild it. (Its kinda obvious). Anyone who disagrees with leaving fresh flowers im all ears. I didn't really rebuild it. I was guilded

Any natives on here. Please say a prayer and help this grave flourish

Good on you for helping them out! I hope they learned a lesson. Always carry tools, period! I have a high-lift jack and an impact socket set with a 1/2” drive breaker and 1/2” drive torque wrench and a cheater bar for breaking things loose. Again, good on you for taking the time to help a fellow off-roader. This is a perfect example of what makes the off-road community so great!

2 years ago some interweb "personality" came out to Phoenix AZ to try one of the trails that takes at least 1 life every year ... the trail is inside the city so is NOT remote. A local police officer was hiking with her, but when she turned back because her 16 oz of water was gone, and he kept going to put pictures on her cell phone. 2 hours later he returned to the base of the trail, she was not there. Her mother contacted local police after the damned fool hiking companion officer was burbling about "she was just with me" to her mother. 2 hours later the girl is found dead in the backyard of a house along the trail.

Ever since I have vowed that if someone seems in trouble but does not want help, I will trail by 100 ft if required and endure any amount of racial insult to see the person gets back safely.
