Uninstalled my BA 4x4 steps/sliders and was averaging 21mpg highway up from 18's. What a difference, wondering if I had gone with non step models it would have been the same or not...

Nice! Maybe if I put on sliders my MPGs will go up to 18’s. Lol. You just get better mileage than most probably.

+3 MPG by un-bolting 140# from the bottom of your truck? That's highly unlikely. I would bet there are other factors involved.

I had a poor delivery guy drop the drinks and in his panic slam his door into my truck.. the sliders caught the door and saved me from a gnarly ding

Really? 3 MPG, consistently, from removing the sliders, and nothing else?

I only gain about 1.5 highway by removing my roof rack, which should affect fuel economy way more than sliders.

The only part about the sliders is that they were steps, so not close to the body and caught alot of air. but yeahhh forgot about the topper too

I don't doubt they had an affect on your mileage. It's just that 3 MPG is a huge difference. I didn't even notice a difference when I had mine off for a month a few years ago.

My sliders are like 46-48'ish lbs per side, I dont remember excactly....
Westcott sliders with top plates are substantially more....
Between my 285's, my sliders, mileage took a hit, but I dont have specifics, im not micro managing it, it is what it is.....

It's alright. I lost about a 1/2mpg when I put my sliders on. Between the weight and extra drag of the soft topper, I could see an extra 2mpg gain there.

I get about 1/2mpg better with my tonneau cover on, as opposed to off and closed.

My soft topper cuts my mpg by a ridiculous amount, but I have to keep it on the truck in the winter so I can move my ice fishing gear.
