From the pic, it didn't look oily to me. Okay maybe they hit it with brake cleaner, I don't know...

2 more observations. If the dirty connector got wet during the brake fluid service, could that fluid/dirt have interferred with the communications and caused the flutter of codes?

Trouble shooting suggestions by 'google' is outlined here, for the 3 codes. I would also check fuses under hood, are any blown?

    True.
Between the pos service managers who are MOSTLY effin liars(not to mention the general managers) and the totally loser service writers, you are basically screwed before the hack gets his/her hands on the vehicle. There are some excellent techs out there, the problem is they are few and far between. The dealership service departments are a total joke anymore. Their main purpose is to increase sales and profits period, not to do what's best for you and your investment.

The first bleeder pic appears to show a tiny bit of fluid at the base where it meets the backing plate as it goes into the plate. The second one not so much. So it appears they did at least one side (for whatever that's worth).

Flip keys, changing as much back to OEM (lights, bumper, panels, chassis), and buying all the missing pieces taken from the dealer before selling me this truck.

Thanks! Looking at the battery, they definitely disconnected the negative. The ground wire is bunched up in a weird S shape toward the screw on the truck. I’m looking at the pages on here with the VSC and zero point calibration to cleaning the gas cap and port.

I PERSONALLY don't see anything weird on the recpt - but MAYBE when they worked on the differential, they bunged up the harness. Correct me if I'm wrong (I haven't looked at mine for awhile), but doesn't the sensor wiring come down to the differential then split to the two sides? Have you tried testing for continuity - first from the wheel to the harness center, then from there to the front? Usually there will be two connections (I haven't looked at my Taco).

One from the wheel to a central point at the rear, then another one from that point to somewhere near the front (which then goes to the control module).

If you know someone with a tester like the Waekon ABS tester, it makes it pretty easy. It's a little pricey, but I bought mine when I the ABS system on my wife's Prius was getting wonky. It can not only test the sensor directly (to see if the sensor is generating signal), but can also generate a fake signal itself to see if the signal reaches the module. So you first test the sensor, and if the signal from the sensor checks out, you use the tool to generate a signal. If the module doesn't see the generated signal, you try it from the next connection. If the module then sees it, you know it's a wiring problem between front and back (you can also test to see if the tester can see the signal from the sensor to the front connection). If it STILL doesn't see anything, it could be the module (or the last mile wiring, which would be really rare).

Not sure if already mentioned. A broken ABS sensor would give you braking problems. My buddy just had this happen to him. He went to brake and had to pump the brakes like 3 times to stop. One local shop wanted to replace the master cylinder and do all these expensive repairs. Took it to another guy who just changed the ABS sensor, problem fixed.

Maybe the rental gets stolen or flys off a cliff accidentally. Anyways, go back and tell them to fix their shit. Threaten to call the BBB and corporate. Good luck with your truck.

^This is where you discover the dealer's BBB rap sheet is already 15 pages long...

BBB lol.. what makes people think there's even anybody still working there?

there's probably 2 guys left in the office. They dont even have time to investigate shit because all they do now is answer emails from Elon explaining what they did last week and why they should be able to keep their jobs. They probably have a waiting list that stretches for years.

20 years there was an entire building full of staff, now the place is empty.

$1000 for a fluids change and they tore up the truck in the process.

This is why I work on my own stuff.

    Good luck OP.

 I think you have the BBB confused with something else. It is a private non-profit funded by businesses paying membership fees. Elon has nothing to say about it, lol.

You're right, I was thinking about something else. But I doubt this guy will hear back from them about his brake fluid complaint either

Out of curiosity, I looked them up on BBB. At least their BBB page (assuming it's the same Westside Toyota) looks pretty good, but I PERSONALLY don't put too much stock in BBB ratings anymore. Note - they are BBB accredited, so maybe complaining through them MIGHT get you somewhere.
