Clean and freshly traumatized. They said he was ‘very difficult’ lol.
When I got there he was still being worked on, he spotted me from the back and started freaking the f out, flailing around and screaming like a banshee

he still has a little skunk to him, but they warned us that would likely be the case for awhile.

Make sure you pull the disconnect first. And just order a new one that matches the rating on the old one

@Kwikvette whats the approximate seat height range on your stool kit? And is it shippable?

The leg extensions on my table are great, don’t have to hunch over now, but my tiny stool ain’t gonna cut it for seated work anymore.

And so it begins. GF is about 90% of the way to having a job in silverthorne colorado. Headed out there this week to have a look around. Cost of living is expensive AF, but...it might be worth it.

I'm a sucker for shorties. I see more BJs go up for sale than the little J90 Prados, and way fewer in left hand drive. I was kicking myself missing that thing. Had 82k on it and was going for a song, all things considered. I'm on their watch list now but I can't imagine they roll off the ship often.

Goal was 22" to 29" so with the kit I developed, and ACME rod at 18" in length, I ended up with 22" to 30". Which is funny because I needed a sitting height of around 24" to work at my laptop or welding table, but now have it around 27" because of my new table. So, make sure you give yourself enough adjustment.

I've sold a few kits already (without ever having intended to sell them), and yeah it'll easily ship as it only consists of 5 legs, 1 stool mount, and a jig for placement of the legs assuming you use round tube for the center section. The ACME rod you would save more money ordering yourself from McMaster Carr (so you don't double up on shipping costs), along with whatever style caster mounts you use and more.

With all that said, if I were you, I would work up the project on paper to see how you really want to build it. I say this because I spent more than I originally intended to, but you can save money if you make changes in the design. For example, you can do a simple square tube within square tube for the center post, with holes in it for adjustment. Use something like a hitch pin for locking the setup in place.

Home depot and Ace hardware were both out of stock but Amazon can deliver one by tomorrow. I'm just glad it's only the starting capacitor so I can manually spin the fan and run it for a while until then

It's less Tacoma and more mod
If you also just want to get your unit running right this second you can start spinning the fan blade while it's humming. Cap just gets it started from a dead stop

They are cheap enough. It doesn’t hurt to keep one on each shelf. One of the number one calls when summertime rolls around for residential AC and there’s no cooling in the house is a bad start capacitor. I would always recommend changing it once a year just as a preventative maintenance by them because they’re so cheap

Awesome, I was thinking I needed ~30” so should be easy enough to dial it in! Sign me up for a kit whenever you clear your backlog from being down and have some free time.

Shoot me a DM whenever you’re ready, I’ll start chewing on a plan in the meantime. Threaded rod adjustment sounds too fun to pass on though!

I'll get another capacitor as a spare and another box of fuses to go with it.

Just need to buy some 3/16" and I may possibly do that tomorrow afternoon so I can get started on test cuts sooner than later.

That will wrap up +4 orders already once it's dialed in.

Same, even in person. They buried it in there good.

The driver was wearing a high-vis safety vest, too. I got a good chuckle out of that.

I sometimes think about trying to find a two-door, LHD, 3RZ truck (I don't want to deal with a JDM diesel) but then I think... isn't that pretty much a less useful regular cab Tacoma?
