I placed a factory build request about a month ago (nothing on the East Coast of the US matches what I want) and I have a couple of questions:

And for the record, I've used the search feature and have looked thru a ton of threads and have not found the answers to my questions, but that doesn't mean they are not out there....

    1. Will the OEM wheels in this photo fit on the 4th Gen? I'm not a big fan of the wheels that come with the Sport model.Toyota OEM Wheels.jpg

    2. I am getting the factory lift kit (2 1/2"). What is the largest size tire that will fit without any modifications? Yeah, I know. A common question but this involves having the factory lift kit.

    3. I have N-Fab tube steps on my 2nd Gen and absolutely LOVE them. According to the N-Fab website they don't currently make any type of rub rails/steps for the 4th Gen. Does anyone know if they have something in development? I'd hate to get something else and then they release what I really want.

    Thank you in advance.

What is that OEM wheel from? Also you are looking for unicorn. There is only one in the US right now that matches it.

From what I'm seeing they are from previous year(s) 4 Runners. It's not a unicorn at all. There's a ton of them available in the Mid-atlantic on Facebook Marketplace for under $800 for a set of 4 with tires.

    1. Wheels need to be a minimum of 17” in diameter. Second, if they are, you’ll need hubcentric rings, as the hub in the new truck is smaller than the 1st-3rd gen. I’m not sure on the specifics, I’m just getting into the research myself.

Those are 17" wheels and the Sport you have on order comes with 18" wheels. Toyota has a recall to fix Tacomas with 17" wheels but they won't fix a Sport because they come with 18" wheels and the fix isn't needed. There are many 24-25 Tacoma owners that have swapped their 18" wheels for 17s with no issues but Toyota did a recall for a reason.

    @Rocketball

The wheel is you picture is a 17 inch 4Runner wheel. This wheel WILL NOT fit on a the fourth gen Tacoma's. Toyota changed the lug size and bore for the fourth gen wheels. The lug pattern is still the same as the previous years at 6X139.7 but the Fourth Gen Tacoma (2024 and up) hub bore is 95.1, lug size in 14X1.5.
All previous year 6 lug Tacoma's and 4Runner hub bore is 106.1, lug size is 12X1.5.

The hub size is larger, so technically it will go on the new Tacoma. Most likely the 14mm lug studs will fit through the holes, and the 14mm lugs that came with the Tacoma can be used. The lug socket clearence is going to be tight and may not work.

    It might work.

I would not do it personally. I would get a wheel set designed to fit.

The only thing I see in his “build” is the oem lift. Dealers can add that to their allocation, or at the dealership. Hardly a unicorn.

Premium 6ft sport with 2.5 lift in blue crush....there is only 1 in the US right now and it is $62.8k. There are only 6 others in different colors. So 7 total out of 19k trucks....I would say it is pretty rare. Having the lift added at the dealership would help out if they can get the parts.

There’s a thread with a dealership talking about this very thing. My local has an SR5 with the added factory lift. It’s not a unicorn.

    2.5" Factory Lift

Yes, in theory a brand new BC Sport w 6ft bed lifted & paired with 4Runner OR wheels that date back to 2014 would qualify as a unicorn. Or at least a UAP.

Reading the first sentence of the OP, I see: "I placed a factory build request about a month ago".

Saying "Also you are looking for unicorn. There is only one in the US right now that matches it." is irrelevant. The OP isn't looking for one that's built. He's looking to get one built.

I didn't say it was relevant. I was replying to all the people that couldn't read the other reply about the unicorn.
