3rd Gen - Tacoma 2017 TRD Pro – Barcelona Red – “Pavement Princess”

Pavement princess was purchased in 2017 brand spanking new. At the time, I used to live in Virginia and I flew down to South Carolina to get the Barcelona Red color because it wasn’t available in Virginia. I now live in hot-Texas. I have been a Tacoma guy my entire life, my old man had a 1st gen, we put 250K, no issues. I had a 2nd Gen (PreRunner) – Texas Edition – put 200K on that no issues either. In 2017 the wife convinced me to get red because why not, I went to NC State (Go Wolfpack!) and I had red stickers all over my crap and so it was time to have a red unit.

Day 1:

Day 200: getting the K02's in the back loaded - early days of mods. I wasn't even on TW at the time. I didn't know about this community.

Eight years later (today) I only got 53K in it as I travel a lot for work and this thing is kept in the garage. Pavement princess is like a therapy dog for me; it calms me down for some reason. I enjoy doing little things in it and sometimes some big stuff too. I don’t think princess has seen a trail or mud ever, it has seen beach sand in VA and NC. It is kept inside for the most part and I believe this will be a forever truck for me. It has grown on me tremendously and it is a lot of fun to drive since I got some goodies in it.

Here it goes....

Suspension:

· FOX Performance 2.5 with DSC adjusters (Tune by Accutune w/hwy driving whatever)
· SPC UCA’s – painted them red because I thought the JBL’s looked pretty good.
· Bump Stops – by Durobumps – front and back

Tires and Wheels:

· K02’s – 285/75/16 (How about them red letters) I just did it with a special marker.
· Wheels: Method 703 – with zero offset

Exterior:

· Undercoating – with VG-104 (had rust on the 1st gen – so got proactive here)
· Tonneaus Cover – Revolver X4S (I like this a lot, keeps the back clean).
· Morimoto XB Evo Front and Back (next week)
· RCI Rocksliders (I hated the Kraptor steps)

Interior:

· A few phone mounts
· ScanGauge III (When I go back to VA and back from TX)
· Upgraded to Alpine unit and speakers (so so)

Engine Performance / Drivetrain/Others:

· Magnusum Supercharger (It goes)
· Power Brake Big Front Rotors and Pads
· Regear – 488 Yukon (Recommended)
· OTT Tune – Medium (Yes)

Today at 53K -
What does princess needs to keep this mall crawler status? I'll be adding pictures later of some of the mods above.

Don't have any of those. Been slamming the hood everytime

 

I gave her a bath today. I scrubbed the tires pretty good and thought the red marker was going to come out but it held ok. I thought for a moment I was going to end up with pink letters.

 

Morimoto lights in the back now. You can't barely tell as all the red blends in. I will post the front this weekend when I get it done

 

she is certainly a mall crawler. Will never see a ditch or a trail I don't think. I got another animal for that.

 

I love the build! I’m very curious to see how long the red sharpie lasts.

After your thread on the red letters, I went back to look at the Grabber X3 again but they still don’t offer them with red letters in the size I want

 

Morimoto X Evo went in this weekend. Front and back. Typical job, you think you only need 2 hrs, then your parents call, then a neighbor shows up to chat, someone from work sends an email and you need to respond...the list goes on and 3pm comes in and you still haven't done crap on the job you started at 10am

 

Eventually after 4pm people finally stopped asking questions....no more errands to the store,and you finally get to your 9am project....completed.

Looks ok I guess. They are definitely better than stock.

 

Looks great! I have their XB headlights. Those taillights you installed are awesome, I love that that they don’t have any crazy flashy design pattern and it looks nice and simple. I might look into those myself after seeing them on your truck.

I have the Meso total tails at the moment.
