Both our 2014 Forester XT and 2022 non-Turbo has paddles. About as useless as any other non-exotic / non-track weapon, IMVHO.

Sad for Subaru, but the stupid CVTs drains all the life and fun out of them.

A friend got nabbed in the 6.2l failures on a new Trail Boss way before there was a rumble about it. Didn't make 10k until he seized it up.

Yeah, that situation sounds REAL BAD!

My old Denali had the 6.0 that was a brick shithouse. For an AWD land-yatch it would pull. That thing in the dead winter, taking short trips all city,,, would no shit, get 9 mpg!

I never really understood why you would want these with an automatic transmission. I did have them on my BMW 3 series with SMG. The SMG transmission was a 6 speed manual with a clutch but no clutch pedal. Think FI or Indy cars. It was fun but I would have preferred the regular manual with a clutch pedal. I know the SMG was smoother and faster shifting that I ever could be but.....

That is the typical SBC. Not sure how they screwed it up recently. My friend traded for the baby Duramax and is very happy for now.

    Awesome!

The truck was sweet, but he offloaded it after a couple other things.

It's somehow supposed to demonstrate that your car is as light as humanly possible.

I often get the same performance gain by choosing to eat a salad instead of the Monte Cristo.

There was a point in my life where I thought a highly touted auto transmission would be sufficient and my wife could drive the car, so I bought an 2012 Lexus IS-F ( https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a16576765/zfs-8-speed-automatic-transmission/ ), then I bought an automatic 2020 Toyota Tacoma…then earlier this year, I bought a proper manual trans vehicle (2018 VW)

hahaha..yea, it’s funny to see/measure how much the front suspension of a 991.2 GT3 “lowers” with a full fuel (extended fuel tank), 30 pounds in the frunk and 2 adults in the car. Thank goodness there was weight savings on the Lightweight Carbon Fiber Bucket Seats and Carbon Brakes

I’d say the OP used the extra 3-4 conductors in the spiral cable to accomplish his task.

Every minivan has 4-6 of those nylon pull handles, for tumbling seats forward

I'm thankful I’ve never had to experience that/minivan.

They’re fine for engine braking on long descents but yeah, really no other reason for them to be there.

And even then I find myself wishing they gave me a knob to control the ratio, would make more sense than mimicking a traditional gearbox and might actually be one neat feature of a CVT

Say what you will, but with the pull of a few levers the Aerostar seats would convert to a highly comfortable queen sized bed. The only challenge was finding a date that would be willing to go for a ride in an Aerostar.

Cheers! I do mainly downshift with them. That could be on the lever just as easily.

    A knob could be cool.

I just wish acceleration was more exciting like OG 2.0turbos.

Not sure what is the point of the paddles, but Tacoma S mode is not a "realtime" shifting, especially for Upshift.
Upshift is delayed in certain scenarios (speed, load, gear).

Ya that’s my first question. Is this just moving the s-mode control? If so, it’s oh hum. I think many people are denying the fact that they were born to drive a manual.
