Whatever works! I'm actually trying to figure out a way to mount a 1 banger aimed at angle in this spot, might copy your washer idea for a trial and error.

I was thinking of doing the same, sticking some silicone sealant around the threads just incase.

I've found that CG VRP works pretty well at restoring powder coated (plastic) surfaces that have began to fade. Did wonders on my Aluminum Tonneau, Yakima OverhaulHD and sliders.

Yes, I installed it to align with the curvature of the windshield (cutting was required) and let it run back. Not near my truck or I would take a pic for you...

Thank you, I think I'm going to do this. There was a LOT of paint damage where the OEM rack came into contact with the cab, debris got underneath and burned through the clear coat.
I have a permanent outline in the roof that only partially buffed out AND one spot where it actually burned through the base coat and started to rust.

I need to figure out what I want to do with that one spot, I cleaned and buffed it to the best of my ability and I'm trying to decide whether I want to cover, paint over or redo the entire panel section. It's freckled.
