    Just did my install.

Went to first muffler and this is how the conversation went. First they took a look at the angle through the stock intake hole and said.

Shop - "If you know exhaust piping at all that steep of an angle will not work. But for $50 we can fab something up that will."

Me - "Yes it will here is a picture to prove it and your a rip off by."

Second shop I went to I asked the guy for a pipe to fit. He bent the pipe at a 45* Angle and said here ya go no charge.

    Fits perfectly. Pics to come.

Just wanted to follow up on my install, this is a picture of the fitting I used to mate my snorkel with my intake. I could not find anything I liked and wanted to avoid the exhaust tubing for many reasons. Because I had a shop make these I got 2 just in case, 1 for my CAI and 1 for my standard intake.

The way I have it set up is inside is an aluminum mate that is roughly 1/1/2 inches and bent at a 45* angle. It runs from just under 4" to just over 3" in to the stock intake. It connects with 2 hose clamps and is water tight ( I checked first). The reason I did this was because I did not want to have to take apart the whole system to service or deal with any pipes heating up and reducing my air volume. Also I thought it looked more "stock" and clean. Let me know what you guys think. I will have a picture of my CAI version up soon but have been lazy and need to take it apart to show first.

I like that fitting! I need something similar for mine since I did the same thing going to the stock intake tube.

I know, it fits like a glove, you just need to run a little piece of aluminum or you could use whatever 3" pipe and a 45* bend about 1" long and your set.

Boyd, just wondering what you used to apply the silicone to the outer edge of the snorkel?!

    Picking mine up (finally) Tomorrow!

I did have to seal the 3 holes in the bottom of the stock tubing right where the large bulge area is but after I did that and filled it with water I had NO LEAKS!

No inside is a small section of aluminum bend like an elbow to mate with my snorkel tube.

Well the rubber elbow on mine slides right inside the stock intake tube, just not a tight fit and there's no way to clamp it down. I'm not real keen on just gooping it up either.

Thats why i ran the aluminum. it fits inside this fitting and inside the snorkel rubber intake hose and the you pop 2 clamp on and your good to go! Also it keeps the opening @ 3.11 inches with the alum inside so its not loosing that much diameter and thus resulting in less air loss.

So where did you find that adapter part? It looks like it's some sort of rubber right?

Its High temp silicon from a company that makes race fittings. Its designed to be used with huge turbo's but is pliable enough to work great for the snorkel.

I went with high temp silicon for its durability and resistance to heat while still being simple to adjust to any surface.

Ok so for the stock intake I used a 3.25 - 3.0 high temp high pressure silicon reducer and a 90* elbow of aluminum. For the Cold Air Intake I used a 4 - 3.0 reducer same kind just picked a different color and used the same elbow. For the Cold Air Intake and for the stock intake you need to trim a small amount off of the opening that goes in to the fender. For the stock intake I just took the lip part off as you can see in the picture. For the Cold Air Intake I took all but a 1/2 inch off so I had more room to work with. I did not want any kinks in the piping. Then I simply attached and used 2 hose clamps to keep in place.

On the stock intake air box you need to use something to seal the 3 drain holes in the larger part of the hose. In the Cold Air Intake box I found that as long as I sealed the top that the bottom had 0 leaks. I believe this is because the way it mounts keeps it super tight to the body.

Here is the part for the stock intake.

Here is the part for the cold air intake.

    Hope this helps.

is that a typo? you said 3.25 to 3 for the stock intake, but the link says 3.75 to 3.
