Yeah mines lower than stock. I could raise it 0.75" so I'll do that to give me the best chance. Not looking to attach it to the headboard with my future plans.

Yeah theyre just aluminium fenders. After making them, their price isnt that crazy. A sheet of 5052 is around $300 here and if I were to do a bunch of these it would probably be 4-6 hrs a set

Getting most of the deck on feels good. Made a little drill guide at work to drill the hole at the proper distance from the channel for the weld nut.

Now I gotta decide what to do with the front section. I am thinking two separate panels. A small one to be able to take off and access the fuel fill lines and a bigger one covering the rest.

Final weigh in, 332 lbs. My stake pocket setup added alot of weight.

Still pretty reasonable seeing my stock bed was 280 lbs and the rear bumper will be lighter than a normal one.

    Deck all sheeted. I used 1/8 5052.

    upload_2025-6-2_7-1-48.png

Even has a tailgate(this is temporary though). Came out a little wonky but I dont have any more aluminum to recut it.

And the wife got it all painted. Looks so much better than if I painted it.

Nope mostly mig, a few little sections were tigged. Spoolgun for the fenders.

I cant even imagine tig welding the whole thing. My hands were burning off with the mig gun. Plus I wouldve had to clean all the mill scale really well cause channel typically gets the really thick stuff

Looks great, you may want to move your license plate. I dont think the cops would love that one.

I still have to build a hitch and a headache rack but feels good to have it on

Haha yes. I got halfway home yesterday and was like shit. Had to pull over and ziptie it to the rack. Got it put on last night with some of those bolt/LED light things from AutoZone.

I got all the way to the gas station realizing I had my old plate from another state on that I use for mockup. Had an NH plate up front and a MA plate rear. Best part is that gas station is right next to our police department.

Small town though, only 3 officers on that force and theyre good people.
