I sure would like a picture of this.

I have some ideas that would be a lot less hassle and quick.

A picture might wake up the collective knowledge of this thread.

    We all love pictures.

I got an email the other day saying the $20 delivery charge will be no more in July. Not sure what it will be, guess I'll pick stuff up from now on if it's too high.

So I got out early today to do a bit of mowing at home & beat the heat.

    The best laid plans...
Disassembling the mower was not on today's plan. :censored:

    20250604_121934.jpg

Mowin' along, singin' a song (Delbert McClinton) and suddenly the mower began to labor -- and smoke.

It was a nice long push of the damn thing back to the driveway which is uphill by the way. :ballchain:

The sun was blazing, as I spent 90 minutes fussin' & cussin' with it, after removing a good chunk of the mower I found this.

    20250604_121951.jpg

The belt that drives the hydro came off an wedged quite firmly between the pulley & frame. There is a pretty stout spring for tension, holding the spring back whilst extracting the belt was a challenge.
Now it won't crank ! :annoyed: Seems the wiring to the brake switch is damaged. Well, I can jump the solenoid...

    ... and it starts! :)

    ... and dies.

I kinked the fuel line. :censored:

    ... 90 minutes later ...

I finally got back to mowing. :bananadead:

I'll tell you working out in that blazing sun knocked the stuffing out of me for the rest of the day.

Didn't realize until later is was over 90 on the porch, I don't know the effective temperature in the direct sun, had to go sit in the garage several times and went through a half gallon of water.

Yeh I'm alright thanks, just been working a bunch. Back to back Sundays, back to back 60+ hour weeks, record low shop morale...a whole lot of "we appreciate everything you're doing, can you do 13 hours the next 5 days"..I've got a job and I am thankful for it.

My pension vests next May, and I will re-evaluate accordingly.

Unrelated, a crane toppled over on a local construction site where a hospital is being built and killed two guys due to high winds. Safety is no accident. And we can't ever be too busy to stand down and address safety concerns.

That happened to me last year. I learned the older I get, the more I need to start treating myself better.

Got myself a wide brim hat and now space out the water intake instead of waiting to get the dehydration headache. It’s tough out there doing this stuff by yourself, too. I figure if I put myself out of commission, a lot of stuff is just gonna pile up…
