It's not what it was in my experience.

The last time I had it in there, first time with the Tacoma), they did a toe and go. Left the truck on the lift for over an hour, while my wife waited.
I looked at the alignment sheet, they didn't touch the lower control arm adjusters. At all. Since, you know, they had witness marks to see if they moved.
Was told it was too far out of range, blah blah. I called them out. Had the manager come look, said I was being unreasonable, and since it is modified, I had no idea what I was talking about.
They lost my business, and, a bunch of fleet vehicles.
    Fk Firestone.

I think that applies for almost all alignment shops. I told mine a toe and go is fine as long as they print out the alignment sheet. They didnt even do that.

Measuring camber is super easy but caster is a little trickier at home.

Yeah, but, mine was out, caster and camber. Was right after the first round of suspension.

Mine needs to go back in, hopefully just a toe and go... pretty sure a pothole caused it.

Are OME Comparable to Headstrong? I’m thinking 884 or 885 ( need help with that) I’m trying to decide which. I’m going to put 5100”s ( or maybe next one up (not sure on that too) to the rear and changing out the front to level off. Also considering AAL because I often load my bed with stone and loam and other heavy materials…….
All this without having to modify anything in the front end to accomplish a 2” lift or so and something that won’t make an alignment difficult, thanks

Im not sure what you are saying about "OME Comparable to Headstrong" OME is a suspension manufacturer and headstrong is just a reseller.

All of the Bilstein options are fantastic for the price, cant go wrong there. Many many of us have or are still running 6112/5160 combo but I dont see anything wrong with the 5100's either. As for putting OME springs on bilstein shocks yes it has done many many times but I dont have experience with that to help you out.

So I personally think leveling trucks is not a good idea, a little rake never hurt anyone and seeing that you haul stuff fairly often I wouldnt level. You are much better off going with a leafpack like the ICON RXT instead of an AAL. I dont know anyone who has been happy with thier AAL setup long term.

So, 6112/5160 and Icon RXT would be ideal all around combo for looks and functionality?

Hi Brian, i think the first thing that we need to be able to determine is going to be the answer to a couple of questions.
    1. What is the reason for the lift?
    2. What do you intend on accomplishing by getting the lift? (Wheeling? Looks? Comfort?)
    3. What is your basic budget and level of technicality regarding maintenance?

Headstrong uses a eibach spring for their 5100's that can be compressed within the confines of the change of setting in the 5100 that allows the person for more weight or more height. The OME spring has the load of the spring built into the spring itself. So you cannot utilize adjustments in the 5100. Meaning that once you put the spring in, you can't adjust it to become softer, harder, more or less lift and you have to have the shock set on its lowest setting.

The 6112/5160 it is very popular because it is best Bang for your buck type of lift that you can get. It gives a nice soft ride without paying thousands of dollars...... But it's still is affordable enough and, and nice enough to use to go wheeling and have adjustability. And by the way, good choice regarding the icon RXT springs. They are, once again, the best bang for your buck springs out there and I always tell people..... Friends do not let friends buy and install Dakars.

My wife was also a bit concerned about going to the woods with the "Truck people", now she often talks about the great little community we have been allowed to be part of. People think I am nuts when I say I am going to hang out with some folks I meet on an internet truck forum, They just don't know what they are missing, or maybe it's better that they don't know. Now it's part of the yearly adventures, thanks all.

Oh and my first time, was @crashngiggles telling me don't worry about the noise, your fine. I was thinking this guy is full of bullshit and just doesn't care about my vehicle. I can say, I was very wrong and Jared is a great dude. And now the wife doesn't freak when truck stuff arrives at the house, cause the "truck guys told me need it"

    Jared,
Wheeling? Maybe. Looks and comfort. Yes, but functionality to do stuff.I do from time to time get a load of loam or stone for home because it’s cheaper than delivery fees and I get half at a time. I will be getting a couple yards delivered for something and it will be worth it.
Would the leaf pack be essential to this?

I saw this and it said it didn’t fit my truck
    IMG_2017.png
Will the 5100’s all around be ok?
Other options/ suggestions are welcome . I feel so lost on this. Overthinking?
    Thanks in advance

I can relate as I joined the group about a year ago for my first time wheeling. Great conversation with the wife, I am going wheeling in my stock daily driver with a group I meet online. "Wife" what are their names, "me" I don't know really but they are @GarlicFarts @sprucemica @mach1man001 @AllTacosFloat @crashngiggles . The sideways look I got was great. It was a great time and continue to tag along.

I agree, we did the 5100's all around with stock springs and AAL. Truck still sits a little high in front. I am now thinking of adding the RTX leafs down the road.

    Congrats man!

Super happy we all got to have the experience getting out there to Dorset before people started destroying it and eventually getting it shut down. And Im glad you guys had a good time. That was the first off-road ride I ever organized. Looking back on it I had no idea what I was doing, glad it all worked out haha

Definitely a very good group of folks here on TW. I've always preferred the forum atmosphere & format over any form of social media - and Ive been on a lot of forums over the years. TW definitely has the best members. All my buddies know of the TW group as "truck friends"

That was a fun and memorable trip! As far as the people go, you are dead on with your assessment! We have some really fantastic people on here! Everyone I've met on here has been genuinely nice to me and my family.
A quick and funny story from my wife. My older son and her used to joke around and say "doesn't dad always say to me, you shouldn't go out and hang around (and especially go camping) with a bunch of strangers that you met off of the internet?".
