Great , great , conversation with @crashngiggles . I’m hoping all this effort comes to fruition. Hopefully a mod day is in order :mudding:

My GF knows about the "truck mafia" and that sometimes I need to go somewhere at 1AM and meet someone in a parking lot for something I got a really good deal on.

My truck was down for the whole day so I decided to go home instead of going home. I went fishing

Women never understand how men can know a guy for years and have no idea what their name is. I once ran into a guy I'd ridden with for years and didn't recognize him. I'd never seen him without a helmet on.

Going out to Chatham tomorrow for a few weeks. I’ll get dinner at the bar there a few times. Gotta get some fried oysters!

All above board I assure you, just the kind of thing that happens when you know a guy who knows a guy who you know from somewhere else who just happens to be passing through.

My father in law ran into a guy he knew and they talked for about ten minutes.

Then they realized they didn't know each other.

Definitely above board, it’s just some people might view it differently. It’s all good

The foot as unit of measure reminds me of awhile back on my Audi forum when someone posted a pic of something with their wristwatch next to it captioned
    " watch for scale"
Well, that became a thing that culminated with somebody buying a house and posting a picture with their wristwatch on the front steps.

Man, sometimes QOL stuff really hits.

My first STI part purchased ended up being a bit of a dud. I ordered an intercooler guard with the STI logo on it and what arrived was bent and poorly painted. I'm getting an exchange but the more I read about them, the less I like them, so I'm going to take my lumps and eat the restock fee to return the new one. If it's also trash, then maybe I can push for a refund without a restock fee, but we will see.

So, I decided to look at other parts to make the car nicer to own. The stock armrest is super low. It turns out there's an armrest extension for the Japanese market cars which will bolt on and raise the armrest a good 4-5". I ordered that and while it's not a perfect color match it drastically changes the comfort in the car.

The piece below the armrest is what I added into the car. It gives me a second storage console as well. It was a bit pricey at $156 shipped, but well worth for comfort.

The second piece was something Subaru was stupid to delete. On the GD series cars like @Brownmatthall and I had there was a small coin holder to the left of the steering wheel in front of the fuse panel. The VA chassis cars deleted the coin tray in the USDM cars, replacing it with a single piece of plastic. The JDM cars and a few other models over the years kept the coin tray. For $9(!) as an add-on for something else I bought, I was able to add back in the coin tray. It gives me somewhere to put my door remote or actual coins. Again, small things for QOL. I feel like Toyota would have charged $43 for the same part.
