Not sure where you live, but I got a set in Florida <$98.00 before tax. $16.44 each, still highway robbery.

Wait for a sale next time.

Do you all put anti seize on the new plugs when installing?

Mine loosened well enough, I didn't use anti seize on new.

The Toyota parts site had a really good Memorial Day sale. I got six plugs for $70.

Escondido Toyota. Their waiting room was full of people waiting for their vehicles to be serviced. They all had scowls on their faces and it seemed like someone just died.

I’m at 71k. Probably doing them next weekend along with new brake pads and coolant.

Do 3rd gens require iridium tipped spark plugs? Dang those are expensive, my platinum tip for 1st gen are $3 each.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I wouldn't. Plugs go in dry and clean.

The smallest of small amount of copper anti-seize, just enough to promote a lubricated install and removal and fill some of the thread clearances for the best grounding. You want to keep the threads of the head healthy, that includes avoiding micro-abrasions for all the spark plugs jobs throughout the life of the vehicle.

Many will argue against this, but plug hole threads can gaul very easily. A very small amount of copper based anti-seize on the plug threads is all that is needed to keep your plug threads healthy and happy.

Oh, and the pics of removed plugs in this thread remind me that the change interval on these truck is too early. Most of those plugs look absolutely fine.

Yea, it's one of those "controversial" topics lol. The way I see it, the only con is throwing off a torque spec and the whole reduce torque wrench by 20-30% thing. Most DIY people don't have the most accurate torque wrench anyways and you can be off by 5 ft/lb regardless. That's why I go based on thread and feel. Hand tight plus quarter turn and you thread it to the same spot every time. Using a torque wrench you never land at the same spot.
