Hello all, So I'm having an issue with the 10a IG1 2 Fuse located in the fuse box left of the steering column blowing. This only happens when I push the AC button or when I turn the vent selector to defrost. The blower fan does work normally as long as the ac button is off and the vent selector is not on defrost. It just started all of a sudden. Could greatly use some direction.

Unplug the A/C compressor and see if it still blows, if it doesn't then your compressor clutch is shorted.

I should have mentioned it in the initial thread but i have done that and replaced the clutch with a new one but it's still blowing the fuse. Just confused as to why it also blows when the defrost is switched on?

Defrost uses the AC to pull moisture from the air.

Still unplug the compressor and see, then we will know if it's on the compressor side or the wire between the fuse box and compressor.

Ok guys. So I did unhook the clutch/compressor and the fuse doesn't blow. I also (don't judge me) did a temporary bypass of the violet wire and the compressor engaged but then cutoff and the ac button started blinking. ‍♂️

Not sure what you mean by temporary bypass of the Violet wire?

Have you inspected the wiring on the compressor carefully for shorts?

I have visually inspected the harness and didn't see anything obvious. The violet wire controls the clutch engagement. I ran a wire from the connector at the fuse box to the clutch wire just to eliminate that circuit.

Found the culprit. Ye ole violet wire was rubbing on top of the compressor underneath the alternator which made it almost invisible to see. Thanks for the assistance.
