"Impossible to know without this info. Did the discount include taking off for a bunch of dealer added options like nitrogen tires? What was your trade-in? If you got 5000 less than private party then that eats up a lot of the discount as well."

Nice! One the better deals on the thread. 13.4% off. Didn’t mean any offense. Just that the market value listed on those dealer worksheets many times is not the same as the actual Toyota MSRP when they include bloated dealer add-ons like nitrogen tires, etc., which are different than factory options. A lot of people don’t make the distinction and include that in the MSRP.

No offense taken, sir. They low-balled me on my trade, but came back with a fair offer. The Subaru app for my WRX had a "guaranteed trade-in offer" that I showed them, & we were then able to reach a reasonable compromise.

So I have been reaching out to some dealerships. Boulware in Columbia SC looked promising. The sale price looks good when you see it only but they quickly tack on 3k+ in dealer crap. A technology fee and dealer benefits. So for anyone else looking I wouldn’t waste my time there.

Dealerships that tack on that junk don't want to sell cars.

and yet they stay in business for decades...

From the dealer's perspective, each truck or car they offer with $$$ of crap needs just one buyer who either doesn't know any better or who is in a bind needing a new ride ASAP 'cuz their current ride just got totaled or whatever. Been there, done that. Doesn't cost them all that much to hold something on the lot a while for that poor sucker to come along, and when it's time to move the vehicle off the lot they can always discount away most of that overcharge.

Glad to be in the position where I can take my time finding the right deal / config without the BS.

Right Toyota in Snobsdale, AZ is really bad about tacking on 2k-3k addendums. (tint, clear bra, door handle cup guards, ect.) Not to mention nearly every tint shop wants $700 and up to fully tint a vehicle out here.

$51,995 for a TRD Sport DCSB 4x4 (no premium package). The price reflects the stupid high taxes on trucks here on Puerto Rico.

One time. This happened because a lot of people in the 1990s started buying a lot of suv and truck due to the craters on the roads.

You could have done better....maybe. goal should have been 5400 off tsrp but then again you are in Cali so you may of had to travel to get that. In the end of it are you happy with the deal? That is what matters.

I had a better deal Out of state but the cost of flying and driving the truck back would been the same cost. Yeah pretty happy with it, wanted to try to get another $1k off but dealer wasn’t having it.
