SUUUUUUWEEEET!!!

 

Pops got the ranchero out in the sunshine this week, took my son(7) for a cruise. Pretty cool moment as you guys may remember it’s been in the family since new! Hope all you are well

 

Awesome car!! Despite going to vintage car shows and swap meets for years, the only time I have ever seen one was in the James Bond movie ("Gold Finger") with Odd-Job hauling away the crushed and cubed Lincoln Continental. I think it was a 1964.

 

I just watched the build video on You Tube.

 

I always wanted to know just how the hell that Ranchero was supposed to handle the weight of the Continental aircraft carrier?!?!?!?

 

Back in the old days of high school it wasn't too uncommon on a Friday for the "rich" kids to drag dads jet boat to school behind their step side for a weekender at the lake.

No my baja never was that lucky

Oh, I knew how it was done, for real, but it takes A LOT of suspension of disbelief to imagine that Ranchero being able to go anywhere with the implied weight of a full sized Lincoln Continental, PLUS however much weight that amount of gold would have been (not to mention Mr. Solo!) loaded into the back!

 

Some cool info there! Thanks for sharing, yeah you really don’t see to many of them, my dad wouldn’t own the car had it not been in the family.

My great uncle purchased, at some point my grandpa got it, many years of sitting around until what would have been about 2007ish he gave it to my brother to sell and put the money towards college.. seeing the kind of money he was going to get at the time my dad just decided to buy/keep the car instead.. from California so it was rust free, car is probably ~90% original

But yeah no where near the following of say the el Camino, I’m sure way fewer units exist
