I’m so tired of all the bells and whistles and unnecessary complications with today’s vehicles, I went with a Tacoma.. Good move? I won’t have it for a few weeks but am super excited.

I had a 2013 F 150 FX eco boost I bought brand new for 40K drove it for 5 years and traded it to car max for 37 K… Out of warranty the truck worried me with all the BS, it was an amazing truck, but way more than I needed..Timing chains and turbos had me worried..

anyway, I never thought I’d buy a 10 year old truck, but from what I’ve read it should outlast many brand new trucks on the market today (including new Toyotas).. Let me know what I’ve got myself into !

it’s a 6 cylinder engine, access cab with long bed,,, ( excuse me if I don’t have the lingo down yet} Magnetic grey, passed a Toyota pre purchase inspection.. 65 k mile, $21,500..

So you'd like a bunch of strangers on the Internet to validate your purchase?

If this truck has lived in salt country, a deep dive frame inspection is in order.

"Toyota prepurchase inspection" is totally dependent on the tech doing the work. Hopefully you got a good one!

Pending info on frame, I'll offer a conditional validation.:rofl:

So Toyota charged me 240 bucks for an inspection, is that crazy or what? They went over the frame thoroughly, no problems. I live in Wash DC, not much snow or salt…The headlights need to be polished, but that’s about it…

Thanks for the validation… I just thought I’d check in to see what this forum is all about..

traded my 2014 sport for a 25 Trailhunter, although I am a little sad on dumping my 14, I really am enjoying this new one.

now you have to worry about how your truck will run after it hits 500,000 miles

thanks, I’ll post pics not that it’s really worth it, I’m sure you all have seen enough stock Tacoma TRDs

tree landed on my 14 Jeep Cherokee limited, totaled. It was a pretty nice vehicle with the pen star 3.2 liter, had ALL the bells and whistles and 75 k miles. I don’t have much trust in Chrysler, but the vehicle was good to me…

so, basically I’m swapping a 14 Jeep for the 15 Tacoma.

Here is a simple thing that makes me very happy. It has a metal key! Hate keys that cost $800 to replace

my only complaint? And this is a dumb one…the cloth seat look very cheap and I camp and fish often.. I’m thinking of adding some seat covers..

Sounds good. 13, 14, 15 are some of the best years IMHO.

Cerakote makes a nice headlight polish and seal kit if you're a DIYr

Welcome. If nothing else we can help you spend $

CoverKing neoprene. Ordered via Costco, much cheaper than CoverKing direct

Here’s a nice way to spruce up the key too… if you message him he’ll put a TRD logo on it: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1883172251/?ref=share_ios_native_control

Congrats on the new taco and well chosen. Not to worry about all the things you’re going to see on here and want to do to it:rolleyes:

I don’t love my Weathertechs for the front seat FWIW. Don’t fit well.l and have faded pretty bad which is surprising.

I ordered WeatherTech floor liners (rear) and the floor mats with anchors (front) from the manufacturer as I've had those mats in a 1996 Pontiac TranSport (from Indiana to home 2003-2009 Cordova AK), a 2007 Malibu 2009-2011 AK 2011-present ID) so ordered those for the 2009 SR5-DLT. Installed Screen Pro Tech (no spaces) film kit on the dash in ten minutes last Friday.

Finally closed the deal and got her home today…I barely pulled this off, these trucks are red hot in the city I live in. I was the first caller on the sale and locked it down fast.Luckily, the seller held the deal even though he had much interest. These things seem to be better than money in the bank!

Anyway, everything looks great minus some foggy headlights and some slight cracks in the bed cover. I’ll have to research the cover type to see if it can be fixed. (The hard kind with a lock, it slides back)

Interior is absolutely mint. Paint is dark grey, shows every scratch, but looks dam good…Anyway, I’m excited as you can tell by me blabbing on and on… So here is a pic.

    2015 66k miles.

thanks much, I’m pretty happy with the keys, like them nice and simple. Pretty cool though (I checked out the Etsy link]

First thing to think about is new tires, mine are about half way done…And then headlights either OEM or something else —- I’m way more about reliability then looks, but if I can have my cake and it it too, that could work.

I'm not rushing upgrades for now, just having a truck will keep me happy for a while..
