That sounds like a very familiar conversation. Austin has given up on the seat and has it all the way down. He's riding the same Haro I bought him when he was big enough for 20" wheels. It's a heavy ramp bike and has survived his childhood well.

I will talk to Austin again about that since it's not a bad idea. Thing is I can't even get him to ride my single speed MTB to the corner gas station.

Something on the lines of Steel Reserve 1 or SI 24 would be a subtle change for him.

I'm guessing he needs a 24 or 26". He's getting close to 6' tall. (currently sitting on maybe a 20" max with 16" tires.)

What are all of the cool kids riding?

I only have a mountain bike because I thought they were cool back in the '90's, and I had to get a cooler bike than my friend, Bill had.

I recently put on some less aggressive (hybrid?) tires, and keep making big plans to start riding again. Maybe if I ever actually get back into it, I'll get a more appropriate bike.

True, but they do serve a purpose, potentially.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I think that would fall into the 'etc' category.

More than happy with the bike Pat sold me. I'm not as hard on shit as I used to be, though...

My hoops have deflected plenty, have yet to snag one under and cause chaos though.

Let's be honest, Tacomas have the aerodynamic efficiency of a brick anyhow.

    Haros weren't built to disappoint.

Thinking about buying a bike and if my son doesn't like it, I'll ride it. :D

I showed him a picture of the
Steel Reserve 1 and asked him if he wanted a bigger bike.

After he asked me if Thomas the train eats fish, he said "yeah, be cool".

I was in denial when I started losing my hair. There's no denying, on my end, the mpg's aren't the biggest selling point.

The conversation at hand was more focused on the highly controversial arbodynamics.

Saw a Crosstrek with a tent on it today.

Couldve sworn the tent was bigger than the car

I kinda got spoiled with my roof rack. I don’t use it for much more than carrying my traction boards and reducing my fuel mileage, but it’s very handy at camp. Since I sleep in the 4runner, I can make room to sleep by putting the big stuff on top. It’s like a big tabletop. Putting water jugs with a faucet hose up there is also convenient.

In fact, my roof rack is mostly why I have arbordynamics on the brain. My first version was neither aerodynamic nor arbordynamic, so it’s been in dry dock the last month getting some improvements.

Hopefully with the changes I’ve made to Mk2, I’m hoping for 25mpg at 55mph while traveling through low-hanging forest! :D

I’m in the home stretch, pretty sure it will be done by tigerton!
