My dad dug me a snow fort!

 

My cousins came over to visit a couple days later, and the snow still hadn’t really melted!

 

This picture is dated January 1998, during which time my dad was stationed in Northern California. My parents and I flew out to PA in the spring of 1998, and they left me with my grandparents while they went house hunting in Virginia Beach, but I’m guessing my dad took this picture while in PA on official Navy business…

Amanda is 15 months younger than me, and we probably grew up within 30 minutes of each other. I lived three other states besides Pennsylvania before ultimately ending up back here in 2005; Amanda and I first met in late 2009, and were forced to part ways in June 2011 because of her controlling ex. We reconnected for the first time in September 2021, and finally started dating in January 2023. Now, here we are in front of my childhood home nearly three decades after my parents sold it!

So, there a miscommunication between the physician's assistant and my orthopedist. The PA made it seem like there was no urgency in getting the arthroscopic surgery, and I was going to wait until after the summer. However, my orthopedist recommends getting the surgery ASAP. My knee is fine now and has returned to normal function. However, the chunks of cartilage floating around in my knee will end up causing it to lock up again at some point. My orthopedist is booked up for the rest of June, except for this Wednesday, and her next open slot for a surgery would be on August 1st. The Carlisle Truck Nationals starts on August 1st, and I already bought my showfield pass; I flipped out on my dad in the doctor's office and told him that Carlisle was non-negotiable. Needless to say, my surgery will be this Wednesday (June 11th), which also happens to be Amanda's 35th birthday. It is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure, which result in three weeks out of work and one week of those three weeks on crutches. It is going to be a pain in the ass but everything important has been paid for, Amanda is still working, and my parents are going to be helping me out financially so I don't have to dip into my savings. My boss is aware of the situation and is very understanding.

I found a friend's dead body and now I need knee surgery...

I'll take a week on crutches and three weeks out of work over ending up in the morgue though. I've lost ten pounds since we found Emily!

 

No $hit 10 pounds, that's great, that will help the knee, hopefully u can keep that off after the surgery.
