Yeah, i'll get some this week when we get let up with rain. They definitely appear on the narrower side.

But if they’re on the narrower side of a 295 that’s ok?

I’ve always felt that BFGs run small. Hence why I’m on the fence between a 295 and 315 for my next tire. Currently I’m on a 285 good year that very much runs true to size. I’ve got room and a want to go bigger.

If you have the clearance and wheel width (and ability to regear), i would go 315/75r16. These look small IMO. My old 285/75r16 geolandar MT looked much bigger to the eye.

Not sure I want to re-gear TBH. I like the KO3 mostly for their snow/ice performance. I live in the mtns of the PNW so a good winter tire is a must. If the 315 measures short and narrow maybe that’s the route to go rather than a 295

285/75r17 is the size for the third gen as far as I'm concerned these days. It's smack in the middle of a 295 and 315 for height profile but so much easier to clear and substantially lighter without all of the width

I want more width than the 285 KO3 has. They look skinny!

but overall, I do agree that the 285/75/17 is probably the right size tire from most other manufacturers

That's just good ol bfg. When I first bought my truck i almost did 265/70r17's k02's but next to a 265/70r17 duratrac they looked stock. So that was the first nail in the coffin for bfg's for me.

    20230118_153351.jpg

The 2 in the center are 285/70 and 295/70

    20231019_172026.jpg
Obviously not the best side by side but unmount 295 next to a loaded 285

Interesting. So you really only a get width difference between the 285/70 and 295/70

    It's hardly noticeable. It's .5" at most

Wish someone had a KO3 size comparison. Be interesting to see the difference across the line

From what you are describing, a 295/75r16 will fit your bill if you are sticking with 16" wheels

Sticking with a 17” wheel, but yeah, I think I’m leaning that way. The 315 probably requires gears and more trimming than just my aggressive CMC/pinch weld. I did notice that the 17” does change some things in terms of overall height vs the 16” wheel which I found interesting. Looks like with the 17” wheel you lose 1/8”-1/4” of tire height depending on the size. Wonder why that is? Current tire and 17” KO3 Specs below:

All of the manufacturers listed sizes are nice and all but really world side by side is the only way to see what it actually is. As I doubt the 295 k03 next to a G003 would be the same overall size

Looks good. These are the new KO2's right? How much of a BMC you had to do to get these to fit?

That width looks much more appropriate than the 285. Looks good! Still on the fence of a 295 or a 315 though

Yes, these are the replacements to the KO2s. I didn't have to trim any plastic, cab mount, or pinch weld for street driving.

If you aren't going to regear, I would get the 295s.
